Professor Nick Cutter

"Aye, basically a teenager" Connor said with a grin despite himself as he watched the raptor. "So we at least have an idea of the time period for the anomaly now" he said as he nodded for Sarah to get the device out and get the data recording started.

“And this will definitely help us with the anomaly mapping, at least this is a link to a past anomaly and we’ll have more data to work with,” he added as he held up his own device to start getting that information.

"Yeah ok so in the meantime what do you do about Chompy over here?" Becker asked glancing over to Cutter before putting his attention back on the raptor. "How are we going to...."

Becker trailed off as the sound of a motorbike could be heard and it sounded like it was getting closer. Becker turned and looked towards the entrance of the hangar and watched as someone rode up and parked at the end of the building.

"Who the hell is that?" he asked squinting and then he let out a muttered curse when he realized who it was. "Quinn? What the bloody hell are you doing here?"

At that moment Cutter was distracted and that was the moment the Raptor struck, it leapt towards Cutter and startled, he fell to the ground, dropping his device and he tried to scramble away but the Raptor was too fast and before Cutter knew what was happening the Raptor slashed his arm and he screamed as the claws tore into his arm.

"NICK!" Connor cried as he saw the raptor attack. In an instant, he was at Cutter's side, barely aware of the raptor not too far away snapping and trying to make a go at Becker. "NIck... Nick, I'm here... you're going to be ok" Connor said as he knelt down beside him and tried to see how bad the wound was.

"Connor, get him out of here, go find someplace safe!" Becker yelled as he took a shot with the EMP gun and missed. "Damn it, the bugger us quick!"

Cutter was cradling his arm, “I’m … I’m fine, it’s just a flesh a wound,”

It was more than just a flesh wound, those slashes were pretty deep, he was lucky that the bone hadn’t been cut through.

“What’s … “ he trembled, wincing in pain as he tried to turn around to see where the motorcycle was. Right on cue the engines started roaring and it was distracting enough that the Raptor turned away from Becker and started towards the motorcycle.

“Everyone find some place safe,” Danny roared over the engines, “I’ll lose this guy for you,”

"Come on, get you someplace safe then we get that arm taken care of before you bleed out" Connor said as he grabbed Cutter as gently as he could and pulled him to his feet and headed towards where Becker was signaling for them all to hide in one of the storage rooms. Connor nodded and watched as Becker got Sarah in and secure and they were right behind him just a few moments later.

"Is that Quinn?" Connor asked as he carefully got Cutter seated and started trying to look at the wound on cutter's arm. "What the heck is he doing here?"

"I'm okay, really," Cutter insisted, just ignore how pale he was starting too look there, "I can get back out there ... I dropped the device, let me get back ..." he tried to stand up again but then a wave of dizziness washed over him and he had to sit back down.

"Wait ... the guy who arrested both you and Professor Cutter?" Sarah looked around at the group, "how did he know where you were?"

Nice try Nick, Becker wasnt falling for it. "Oh no you don't. You are sitting right here and not moving. We got to get this taken care of" Becker said as he reached into the back pocket of the utility pouch he was wearing and pulled out the small first aid kit. "Sarah, can you help me with this here?" he asked nodding at Cutter's arm.

"Connor, keep a look out make sure nothing else comes through the anomaly and if you can see Quinn, keep and eye on him. Make sure he doesn't make a bloody mess of things" he muttered under his breath. He turned to Sarah and sighed as he started to work on Cutter's arm. "Yeah one in the same. Guy is like a bad rash. Just cant seem to get rid of him..."

Cutter was in too much pain to argue at that point, he’d lost a fair bit of blood so he weakly nodded, hissing as Becker got to work on his arm.

“Of course Becker,” Sarah was kneeling down beside Cutter to help him. "Why do you think he followed us? I mean ... I know for a fact this area is well and truly out of his jurisdiction,"

Meanwhile Danny had returned to the hangar, once he’d lost the Raptor for a bit, he noticed the device that Cutter had dropped and picked it up, “well what do you know, more weird tech,” he remarked.

"He's convinced he's on to something with the anomalies. Wants to 'help out' and be part of all this" Beckers said as he started trying to get Cutter stitched up enough to at least get him back to the ARC in mostly one piece. "I don't think he's here as a cop or anything... I think he's genuinely just doing this for some personal reason."

"Hey mate, I lost the little guy" but i don't think it will be long before he's back" Danny said as he ran over and sank down behind a stack of boxes nearby. "Little bugger is fast too, managed to take a chunk out of my favorite boots." Danny looked around and his eyes fell on Cutter. "You don't look too hot mate."

"No thanks to you," Cutter managed to growl, it didn't sound nearly as impressive as it usually did when he lost his temper, "where you following us?"

Danny merely raised an eyebrow, "you're welcome, I was able to lose the guy for you ... give you a chance to regroup," he added, "you need an extra pair of hands on this one,"

"What we need is to figure out a way to get the raptor back through the anomaly and then get it sealed shut" Becker said as he glared at Danny and kept working on Cutter's arm and finished wrapping it up as best as he could.

"Alright well you guys can set up whoever fancy device you have that can do that" Danny said as he tossed the handheld he had picked up over to Connor, who caught it and narrowed his eyes at Danny. "I can lead the little guy back here and let you guys do your thing. Set it up and I will keep him busy till you guys are ready."

This wasn't right, he should be the one giving instructions on how best to deal with the Raptor and he began to protest, trying to sit up and forgetting that Becker was still working on his arm, "hold on ... you can't just barge in and start giving orders," he protested.

Danny looked at Cutter pointedly, "from where I'm standing you're not in much of a position to be giving orders, pretty nasty scratches on your arm there,"

"That still doesn't mean you can just come in and start ordering everyone around" Connor countered. He understood where Cutter was coming from and put a hand on his uninjured arm to try and calm him down a little. "There's a chain of command to follow and...."

"Ok ok enough" Becker said in frustration as he finished with Cutters' arm. "Quinn here wants to make himself live bait, fine. We follow his lead and he can lead the raptor back here. That means we have to be ready to seal that anomaly as soon as the raptor is back through!"

“Wait we can’t close the anomaly just yet,” Cutter protested weakly, still trying to get the strength to sit up, “we need the anomaly data still … its vital that we collect it …for …for …” he looked over at Danny, not comfortable with sharing that information with him, “for our work,” he finished lamely.

“Really?” Danny sighed, “seriously mate, I’m here to help you and considering you brought you and your research to that house, I think its safe to say that I have a fair idea of what’s going on with your little government department … I mean your boss called the Home Secretary for crying out loud, contrary to popular opinion I’m not an idiot Professor,”

Cutter glared at Danny and opened his mouth to say something when Sarah interrupted.

“Wait I can go to the anomaly and record the information,” Sarah volunteered, “I can get out before Mr. Quinn tracks the raptor back,”

"See? Now someone at least is making sense" Danny said with a grin and a small wink at Sarah. "So you go get whatever data you need, I'll go round up McToothy and get him back here for you guys. And I suggest you take it easy mate," he said as he gave a nod to Cutter.

Sarah couldn't help it, she giggled and blushed at that wink, "don't worry guys I'll be back before you know you know I'm gone," she told them.

Meanwhile Cutter glowered at Danny but he really didn't have the strength to argue and he sat back weakly, "okay remember what Connor told you how to use the device?" he looked at Sarah, "you need to get close to the anomaly to pick up the readings or we won't have clear enough data,"

"I remember Professor," Sarah assured him, "if the coast is clear, I can go to the anomaly now and get the data we need,"

"I'll take Sarah to go take care of the anomaly data" Becker said. "Connor get the device set up and ready for when the raptor gets back. And Quinn... try not to get eaten ok?" Becker said with a half grin as he grabbed his weapon and gave a nod to Sarah to follow him.

"Awww I didn't know you cared Soldier Boy," Danny grinned, "one baby raptor coming right up," he promised.

Meanwhile Sarah grabbed her device and followed Becker to the anomaly site, she was nervous about her part of the assignment but she didn't want to disappoint the others.

Then Cutter slumped against the storage containers he was resting on, this wasn't supposed to be how this mission went and seeing the others making plans without him, it hurt, even more than how much his arm was throbbing right then.

Connor gave Cutter a concerned look as he started off after Becker to go work on the locking device. "It's going to be ok Nick... we'll be fine" he said, trying to sound encouraging. "Take care and we'll be back in a jiff." Conor pulled out the small tranqu gun he had and nodded to Cutter, silently checking that he had his as well before he took off to join the others.

Cutter nodded, "be careful," he said softly to Connor as Connor gave him the trang gun, he wished he could be more helpful, he hated feeling useless like this. It was reminding him of being back in the hospital and he really didn't like those feelings.

He tried to peer round the containers to see if he could see what was happening.

Connor stopped in front of the anomaly near where Becker and Sarah were working and started setting up the locking device. A little while later he heard the sound of Danny's motorcycle revving in the distance and then it started getting louder. He looked over at Becker and nodded.

"We have raptor incoming!" Becker called out as he made Sarah finish up the readings then nodded for her to go back with Cutter where it was safer.

"Locking device armed and ready!" Connor said. "Soon as it's through I'll lock it down!"

Cutter tried to position himself behind the containers where he could have the trang gun ready if needed to fire. "Get behind me Sarah," he instructed and Sarah obeyed.

Danny drove the motorcycle through the hangar, "I hope you boys are ready, this little guy is fast," he said as he drove towards the anomaly.
