Professor Nick Cutter

It had been several days later since they had been rescued, they had all been debriefed and now Cutter and Connor had moved back into their house to adjust before they made the move back to Fandom. It was early morning and they were finishing up breakfast, Cutter had made sure there were no berries in sight. It took a few extra days but finally Cutter and Connor had gotten approval from their doctors that they could begin having lunch outside, "I can't believe we finally get to go outside," he said excitedly as he waited for Lester and Jenny to come and help them get ready. Jenny had volunteered to get started with filling in the paperwork as Sarah, Cutter and Connor got prepped and taken in for surgery, she couldn't believe it had happened again. That her teammates were injured, she was supposed to make sure that no one got hurt and now no one knew if Cutter and Connor were going to make it out of surgery, how serious Sarah's head injury would be ... Sarah and Becker had been taken to a cell and shoved in, she was trying to not be scared but she was afraid of Becker being hurt again, "Becker are you alright?" she asked softly, she had seen the heavy blows he had taken from Wilder. After all the formal celebrations and congratulations had been done, they settled into a wonderful buffet spread, the food was excellent and after a while Cutter was definitely starting to feel full. “I hope you’ve had a wonderful evening,” he smiled at Connor, “celebrating your graduation and now our engagement,” he still couldn’t quite believe that this was actually happening. A couple more days in the hospital and they'd finally been given the all clear to head back to Fandom. It would still take a bit of time before they fully recovered but they were now right to return to Fandom and get everything set up before their house arrest began. They had to be fitted with their monitoring devices. Cutter was rather nervous as he waited with Connor in Lester's office, after this they would be saying goodbye to everyone and heading back to Connor's flat to get set up, "I can't believe we're going back to Fandom," he said softly. It had been a long and difficult process both mentally and physically but the day had finally happened when Connor and Cutter had been cleared to return to field work and they’d been invited to sit in on their first team meeting to get brought up to speed on what had been happening over the last few months as well as additional day to day ARC operations that Lester wanted to brief the whole team on as part of their normal meetings. It felt weird sitting back at the table in Lester’s office, Cutter had thought that he would never be back here and while the idea of being out in the field still terrified him, it felt good to be cleared to return. His hand went to the dog chains around his neck, clutching them for reassurance. “It’s really nice to be back here, to be part of the team again,” he smiled. For the next two weeks Cutter and Connor were going to be staying at Lester’s … it was taking some getting used to, being at their boss’s apartment but it was definitely better than the hospital and it meant that the two of them would be able to continue to stay together as they focused on the next part of their recovery, post hospital. Another couple of days had passed since Cutter and Connor had been brought in, they were mostly confined to their beds but since they were both in that much pain they were mostly fine with that arrangement. Even though Connor was starting to get a lot more agitated with his neck brace. It did help that they were able to stay together in the one bed, even being hooked up to all the different wires that they were and they were also comforted by having Captain Becker nearby, they were really starting to grow attached to him, even in the short amount of time that he’d been assigned to them. With everything happening, Lester had realised just how short staffed the ARC really was and he wanted more of a military presence, that he could send in the military rather than civilians. He had been on his way to the warehouse with Captain Becker and his men when Lester had received the call from Leek and tried to negotiate for Cutter’s and Connor’s release but the British government official line was that they didn’t negotiate with terrorists and now in addition to trying to find Cutter and Connor and Stephen, they had to deal with the aftermath of Jenny, Connor and Abby being captured and rescued as well. The scenes outside the warehouse were pure chaos as Lester tried to coordinate the rescue effort but he was trying desperately to still hold on hope that Cutter and Connor were alive, after this past week … He wasn’t one for foolish hope and sentiment but they were members of his team, he was responsible for them and despite appearances to the contrary, he did actually care about them.
