Professor Nick Cutter

It had been a really nice weekend having Tabby and Teddy visit and getting to spend time with them and it had been hard saying goodbye to them. After they had left he and Connor had to finish getting things ready for their move back to London for the summer since no sooner had they got back to the apartment after saying goodbye, the emails and phone calls had started so they already had a lot of work for them when they got back to London.

Everything that they needed was packed up and ready to go, Rex was chirping away in his carrier. Cutter looked around the apartment, “I can’t believe how quickly the time has gone by,” he said softly as he thought back to everything that had happened last summer.

It had been a long and very, very tiring several months but the time had come for Cutter and Connor to make their way back to Fandom. After everything that they had been through Cutter couldn’t believe that they had made it to this day, they had said goodbye to everyone and had caught the portal back to Fandom.

Now they were out the front of their flat, Rex was chirping happily in his carrier as he began to recognise that they were back in Fandom, “I can’t believe we’re home,” he smiled at Connor.

It was Christmas morning and Cutter had gotten up early to put on the finishing touches to the tree, making sure all the presents were underneath and that Rex was content with his food over in the corner of the kitchen. Rex was chirping away happily as he ate.

Cutter put on some Christmas music, he was looking forward to celebrating his and Connor’s first Christmas together.

It had been a few days since Connor had left for his trip and Cutter had been looking after Rex, he had mostly stuck to his flat, making sure that Rex was behaving himself as best as Rex could. The only time he had left his flat had been yesterday when he had ended up being roped into the shenanigans … which he was still a little unsure of with how much of these activities seemed to be water based and he wondered if maybe he should stop going to them for a while.

He sat on the couch, Rex was somewhere in the flat and Cutter had made himself a cup of coffee and sat down on the couch to start working on class plans, so that there would be something for him and Connor to work on when Connor came back. At least this time round would be better and as he worked on the initial lesson plans, he found himself really missing Connor.

Cutter had said that he would watch Rex for Connor while he was on his date tonight, so that had meant that there was a lot of last minute tidying up since he had a lot of books and papers strewn around the apartment and to make sure that there was nothing around that Rex might decide that it looked like a tasty snack.

He did have his laptop open and Connor’s folder of research that he had given him for a potential dig site, since Cutter was looking into moving into what was involved in palaeontology field work for the next couple of lessons, he had also remembered to ask Lester about the possibility of his class visiting the ARC later that semester and Lester had said he would discuss it with Jenny and Leek …which was still unnerving to hear those names being mentioned.

So it was shaping up to be a quiet evening of watching Rex and doing lesson plans, he really did need to start getting out more often.
