"Welcome aboard," Cutter grinned, "we'll tell Becker when he comes back and then we can tell our boss and start the process to get you hired, I want you to start straight away, processing all the different myths and linking an anomaly to the myth,"

"Don't ask about getting a snazzy cool nickname or anything. Cutter doesn't give those out" Connor said with a disappointed sigh as he gave Cutter a small wink and a grin.

Cutter shook his head, "we're not that kind of gang," he smirked at that and returned the wink that Connor gave him, "but thank you Dr. Page, having you onboard will definitely help us,"

"Please call me Sarah," Sarah told them, "if we're going to be working together, you can call me Sarah," she smiled.

"Glad to have you with us Sarah" Connor said with a smile. "Will be nice to have someone else who's a bit of a nerd on the ream.... And i mean that in the most respectful way possible!!!!"

Sarah laughed, "well I never thought this was going to happen when I woke up the morning, finding out there's anomalies that link back to ancient Egypt and then getting a new job in a secret government department,"

"That's ... more or less how we got involved, well Connor ... uh ... my Connor, told me about anomalies and monster sighters and the next thing I know I'm signing the official secrets act,"

Sorry Sarah, you didn't think that the weirdness was going to stop at anomalies and secret government department did you?

"Wait... your Connor? This... isn't the Connor you mean?" Sarah asked, confused as she looked from Cutter to Connor. "Wait.... are... are you saying that not only are there... these anomaly links to different times... but there are also different timelines and realities too?"

Cutter realised that he definitely should have given more warning before he talked about the different Connor’s, “are yeah so there’s two Connor’s, I met Connor,” and he indicated to Connor who was next to him, “at the school we both teach at and the Connor back at the ARC, i met when he came up to me and …” his voice trailed off, not quite willing to talk about Stephen, “it’s …well it’s a bit of a long story,” he said sheepishly.

"Basically, there are two versions of me running around yes. There's me, and then one back at the ARC. We share similar timelines to a.... certain point," Connor said also not quite willing to go into details on how his own version of things had totally changed the day his Nick had died. "But there's a lot of differences too" he said giving a small smile to Cutter.

"We used to date a while," Cutter said with a small smile as he looked over at Connor, even though he couldn't help but wonder if maybe Sarah already knew these details or if she happened to be the one person in the UK who didn't know who they were ... maybe they should disclose that to her before she fully accepted the job offer, "but I never dated my Connor," he explained.

Connor nodded, a soft somewhat sad smile on his face. "It's easiest to think of it like identical twins" he said. "We look the same but we have different experiences and slightly different personalities and interests and have made different choices and all..." Yeah if Sarah knew who they were she was doing a very good job of not bombarding them with questions or accusations.

"Oh, that's cool," Sarah assured them, "I mean I'm sorry that it didn't last between you," she added as she tilted her head thoughtfully as she tried to make sense of everything that she'd learnt.

"There's something you should also know," Cutter began awkwardly, "there's a chance that um ... you may get caught in a media storm, and that well ... we've kind of received a bit of unwanted media attention these last couple of months,"

That was a bit of an understatement Cutter.

Sarah was about to say something when Becker reappeared, a little out of breath.

"Everything is clear, looks like there's been no creature incursion. We might actually get off lucky this time around!" He looked at Sarah and then to Cutter as he leaned over closer to whisper in his ear. "How much does she know?" Becker had a very good idea how much she now knew and he felt a headache coming on.

"Uh ... everything? Or just about everything," Cutter admitted sheepishly, "um ... we also kind of offered her a job," he added quietly, knowing that Becker was definitely not going to like that.

"Cutter... That's not your call to make" Becker said, trying his best not to yell but the man was really pushing his luck right then. "You know Lester has to clear all new hires. Shes going to have to come to the ARC with us. And YOU are going to explain to Lester why she knows so much!"

"But ... Becker it's important ..." was Cutter practically whining there? Yes he was, "we may have a new way of predicting anomalies and um ... we didn't quite get round to telling her about the press," he added rather sheepishly.

"We can explain it on the way" Becker said, rubbing his head slightly. "Because speaking of the press, they are growing rowdy- again..." he said with a disgusted sigh. "They may try to come in and find us themselves and I'd rather not have that happen! You will have to deal with Lester and convince him to let her join the team. But I am against the idea totally, no offense" he added giving a small apologetic smile to Sarah.

Cutter sighed, “of course they are, we can go out the back way right?” he looked up at Becker pleadingly, hopefully Becker hadn’t changed his mind just because he had gone and hired a new member to the ARC team. Becker wouldn’t subject all of them to that again right?

Sarah was just a little bit distracted as she stared up at Becker, because hello ... she had eyes, that she almost didn’t hear what he said, “oh … that’s okay, this is the weirdest recruitment pitch I’ve ever been given … I mostly just want to see what happens,” she admitted curiously.

Connor started gathering up the equipment and everything when he head Becker mention the Press. He so did not want to have to deal with them again. "Back door is still an option right?" he asked pleadingly.

Becker looked at Cutter then Connor and sighed. "Yes yes back way is where we're going. And as far as you..." he said looking at Sarah. "No matter what happens from here on out, you don't breathe a word of any of this to anyone!"

"My lips are sealed," Sarah promised, "wait what about my boss, don't I need to let him know that I'm stepping out? I mean I can't exactly let him know that I'm potentially getting recruited to another job?"

"Don't worry," Cutter assured her as he grabbed the last of his things, "my boss will clear it with your boss, he's very good at things like that,"

"Yeah Lester is good. Really really good" Connor agreed. "Now can we get going? The anomaly seems pretty stable. If we can leave some of your men here Becker to watch it I think we can safely head off and call this an easy mission for once."

Becker nodded and gave the orders to his men and started grabbing the last of the gear. "We should be able to get out the back without being noticed. Just toss the gear in the back. One of you will have to ride up front with me."

Oh the horrors, who ever would be willing to accept that arrangement?

"Oh I will," Sarah said eagerly before Cutter and Connor could even say anything, "perhaps I can get you to change your mind about me," she added with a shy smile.

"Well I think that settles it then," Cutter said with a grin as he looked from Sarah to Becker, "now we just have to hope that the press doesn't figure out we can sneak out the back way,"

Connor nodded and then follow after Becker as he started to lead them through the museum.

"If you are looking for the loading bay" Sarah said keeping close to Becker's side. "It's down that way" she said pointing to the left and Bekcker silently nodded and lead them down the way Sarah had indicated.

Connor glanced over at Cutter as they trailed behind them and gave a small smile and a nod towards Sarah and Becker.

Cutter returned the small grin as they followed Becker and Sarah, "well so far I don't see any press," he said hopefully as he looked around them, "I don't want to speak too soon but this could be our easiest mission yet," he said thoughtfully.

Connor smiled and held out his hand for Cutter to take if he wanted as they hurried on after Becker and Sarah. "Let's get to the truck before we go saying anything like that and jinxing ourselves" Connor said with a small laugh.

But it proved that Cutter was right and they were soon leaving the museum, and not a member of the press in sight.

"Ok our ride should be here...." Becker put a hand to the earpiece he was wearing and nodded. "Good here they are" he said as the familiar black SUV pulled up and one of Becker's men jumped out."Aright everyone, in we go, let's get out of here before our luck changes!"
