Washington DC - Monday

The trip to the museum yesterday had proved to be very successful, Cutter had loved visiting and talking about everything with Connor and even with the other tourists who had mistaken him for a tour guide but he hadn’t minded answering the additional questions at all.

After a quick dinner yesterday and seeing some of the sights yesterday, Cutter and Connor decided to spend their last full day in Washington DC, doing a bit of shopping and eating out a nice restaurant … Lester was really not going to like his credit card bill after this.

They had found a nice clothes shop to start with, Connor had persuaded Cutter that he needed a new jacket and Cutter really had no idea what he was looking for.

“There are so many choices,” he marvelled as he looked at what jackets were on display.

"Exactly! Why would Lester give you a card if he didn't want you to use it right?"

Connor, that is not how any of this worked!

"I might pick up a few things myself while we're here. Could use a couple of things... couple new pairs of gloves might be nice" he said giving Cutter a quick wink.

“We can definitely do that,” Cutter grinned, “I noticed they have some gloves over on the table back there, I think we could pick up a couple of new pieces each, I mean it would be a shame to not spend anything after stopping in here right?”

That was definitely not how this worked Cutter.

"Oh, gotta check those out for sure. You can help me pick out a few maybe? Some more me, some for you" Connor said, his cheeks flushing slightly at implied meaning.

They were hopeless really- Jenny or Lester should take them on a proper shopping trip! Because surely nothing would go wrong with that arrangement!

And Cutter was going very red as he understood what Connor was saying with that, “I’d like that,” he managed to stammer, “I’d really like that,” and then Cutter found himself leaning in to give Connor a quick kiss in response.

Connor returned the kiss and broke into a grin of his own, cheeks flushing slightly as he pulled away.

"So, jackets first then gloves" he decided with a smirk as he turned and searched through one of the racks for a minute or two.

"What about something like this?" he asked holding up a rather nice jacket. "Light weight, looks like a faux leather outer layer, nice for every day but might be dressy enough for a bar date night or something?"

Cutter smiled happily at Connor as he broke the kiss and then turned his attention to the jacket that Connor was holding up, “that does look nice,” he agreed, as he studied the jacket in more detail, “and it would go with what I own as well,” he considered.

Well it wasn’t like he owned many clothes for that to be a problem.

Connor nodded in agreement. "And I think you would look smashing in a leather jacket too" he said with a grin. "Though mine IS still cooler!"

“Oh is that a challenge?” Cutter grinned as he turned his attention to the leather jackets, “I’m sure I could find a really cool leather jacket,” and then he found a black one that he liked, “this one’s nice,” and then he decided to try it on, “what do you think?” he asked as he twirled around, the leather jacket flapping ever so slightly as he did.

OK that was just not fair Cutter, flirting like that. Connor stared and bit his lip a moment, cursing the fact they were in public just then.

"Oh that IS a really nice one" he said as he reached out and adjusted the collar of the jacket a little with a grin.

Cutter would definitely make it up to you later Connor, when they weren’t in public and he went bright red as Connor adjusted the collar.

“So you think I should get this one then as well?” he said with a smile.

"Oh, I mean... since Lester is paying for it and all..." Connor said with a smirk, trying to act casual about it. But really of course you had to get that jacket Cutter! What a silly, silly question!

"Well when you put it like that," Cutter said with a grin as he wore the jacket a bit longer to get used to the feel, it was a really nice a jacket, "so the leather jacket, the one for every day wear and maybe we should get a dressier jacket as well?" he considered, "I mean, that way we're covered for occasions,"

"Sounds like a plan, can always go all out with the dressier one ya know," Connor said with a grin looking his boyfriend up and down with an approving nod. "Get you a jacket, shirt, maybe even a hat- really see what Nick Cutter looks like dressed to the nines."

“Oh that would be nice, I don’t have anything that fancy,” Cutter admitted as he reluctantly took off his leather jacket and turned his attention to the dressier jackets, “how about this?” he suggested as he held up a very nice brown coat.

Connor considered it a moment, imagining the potential full look and gave an approving nod. "That one looks really good on ya, Nick. Lots of good potentials there too... shirt, tie, hat...." Connor trailed off. It was suddenly getting quite warm in the shop for some reason.

Cutter smiled happily at Connor, turning a little red as he did, “I noticed there were hats and ties, over there on display,” he nodded in the direction, “we could see if they’ve got anything that matches the jacket, I think keeping it all brown would be best, a brown hat and a brown tie, I’m not sure about the shirt though,” he considered.

"Ah yes, let's see...." Connor said as he walked over the short distance to the display and started looking over the options, glancing back at Cutter a few times as he picked out a couple of options.

"Maybe these?" he asked, holding up the first tie and hat. "And far as shirt, other than the typical boring white, maybe a nice red or a blue might go well with all the brown?"

“A blue shirt might be nice,” Cutter considered, as he studied the hat and tie, “I’ll try on the hat and tie see how it goes with the jacket?, maybe it would be nice to go with a dark blue shirt?”

Oh yes, please do try it all on. Connor was definitely not going to say no.

"Dark blue I think would look really nice...." Connor hesitated and then grinned as he handed the tie and hat over. "Competent your eyes nicely I think."

Cutter was blushing bright red now as he took the hat and tie, “well if that’s the case,” he grinned and he went over to the shirts and picked up a nice deep blue one, “I’ll go try these on. I’ll be tight back,”

And then several minutes later Cutter was back wearing the brown hat, blue shirt and brown jacket and brown tie, “I think we could do the whole outfit at this point, maybe get nice brown pants to go with it and shoes?” he stared down at the jeans and joggers he was wearing with the outfit, “I don’t think these go with the rest of the outfit,” he grinned.

Lester was so going to love this credit card bill.

Hummmm? Sorry, were you talking? Connor was just a bit distracted right now.

"Oh yeah, might.... might as well. I mean what's two more pieces right?" Connor said finally once he could say something coherent. "Could always just buy it all and wear it back to the hotel..."

And there was absolutely so ulterior motive involved there at all!

“Oh is that a promise?” Cutter grinned playfully as he walked over to Connor to show off the outfit up close, because that’s what Connor needed right now, wasn’t it? “I think this outfit could prove to be very … versatile,” he paused at that, fully aware of what he was doing right there.

Sorry Connor.

“But I think I will buy the pants and shoes, I mean … I could also wear it to dinner tonight as well,” his grin widened as he started to go a bright red.

"Would make sense... break it in right" Connor said as he felt his cheeks flush. "You did want it for a date night after all" he added with a smirk. "Though now I fee like I am going to be severely underdressed for this outing by the time you are done."

“Well this is all being generously provided by Lester,” Cutter grinned, indicating the pile of clothing already in his hands, “I think we could get you a new date night outfit as well, in addition to your …gloves,” yes he was still going rather red as he said that, “what do you think? Any colours or styles take your fancy?”

"Ah well ya know, basically layers...." Connor gave a small laugh. "But I'm sure I can find something on the dressier side of things" He looked over at Cutter and smiled. "Since Lester is paying for it and all."
