MHA #13 - Tuesday

It had been a long and very, very tiring several months but the time had come for Cutter and Connor to make their way back to Fandom. After everything that they had been through Cutter couldn’t believe that they had made it to this day, they had said goodbye to everyone and had caught the portal back to Fandom.

Now they were out the front of their flat, Rex was chirping happily in his carrier as he began to recognise that they were back in Fandom, “I can’t believe we’re home,” he smiled at Connor.

"Then I think that sounds like an excellent plan," Cutter grinned, "we could even get in some home decor and decorate the place as we move into the fall season," he considered.

"OH like the sound of that- decorate in here and then get your flat set up and ready for the eventual ARC stuff. But definitely like the idea of decorating around here a little bit at least." Connor smiled as he stayed cuddled up with Cutter on the couch. "Get some scented candles and a few other things. Get Rex's area set up and made all nice again, love it"

Cutter smiled, “it sounds wonderful,” he said, “I know my flat does need a bit of cleaning in there, I think it’s still got notes and parts from our anomaly prediction model but I’m sure we can still use it to help the ARC where we can,” he considered.

"Keep it.. it, might come in handy still. We... didn't have it when dealing with Phillip before" Connor said, going a little quiet at the memory of exactly why they had none of Cutter's research to help them deal with Phillip back then. "But yeah we can make it work and should have room for anything we need to do with the ARC now."

Cutter nodded, understanding Connor's concern, "we'll figure something out," he agreed softly, "at least this way, we know our research can be safe from Phillip and he can't use it for his own personal gain,"

"Yes that is the main thing, we are already far along in the time line, don't need anything else speeding things up and giving Phillip an upper hand" Connor agreed as he sighed and ran his hand through his hair. It was hard to not feel overwhelmed with it all.

Cutter nodded, "we're working on this together as well, you don't need to go through this alone," he said gently, "we're going to stop Phillip and make sure he doesn't get even farther ahead in this timeline,"

"I just don't... I can't let it happen again. I know it's different this time. You're here" Connor said with a small, somewhat forced smile as he took Cutter's hand and gave it a small squeeze. "That's one difference in our advantage. I... I'm glad you are here Nick" he said softly, trying not to think about how it had been before and how much he had messed up without Cutter there.

Cutter gave a small smile at that as he returned the gentle hand squeeze, "and I'm not going anywhere Connor, I promise," he said softly, "we're going to get through this together,"

Connor nodded and gave Cutter's hand another squeeze and nodded. "So, how should I keep tabs on Phillip? Someone needs to try and get close to him to get details and all of what he is actually doing."

Cutter held onto to Connor's hand, giving it another gentle squeeze as he considered their options, "it would make sense if you were able to get in and see what tech Phillip was working on, I know I won't understand any of the technical side of it," he said softly, "if you don't mind working closely with Phillip,"

Connor really didnt like the idea of being involved in anything Phillip might be doing. But he also knew Cutter was right, it had to be him. "And I know what happened last time and what red flags to look for easier too." He thought for a moment. "Do you think you would want to talk to Lester? I know we decided for now not to mess with who knows what too much... but I think Lester needs to know at this point... he's Phillip's business partner in all of this too after all."

Cutter nodded, "I think we need to bring Lester into this," he agreed softly, "I think this is too big for us to work with on our own, I can keep Lester in the loop, maybe help keep an eye on Phillip through the research side of things as well, at least work with him so I can misdirect some of his efforts, maybe?" he considered.

Connor considered that and nodded. "I think that would be good, actually. Three-way monitoring- from the tech side, the research side, and the business side. It gives us the greatest chance of figuring out what he is doing and stop him before it gets too far out of hand."

"Then I think that's what we should do," Cutter considered, "we can loop Lester in with what's going on so he's prepared on that front, do you think we should wait to speak to him somewhere private, even with the security upgrades there's still a chance Lester's office could be bugged, I think we need to speak to Lester when he's at home,"
