MHA #13 - Tuesday Morning

Cutter and Connor had another check in with Becker that morning so they were up early as usual, they were finishing up their breakfast , at the moment they blissfully unaware that there was anything out of the ordinary happening that day, even though Cutter did find himself humming a fair a bit, but he didn’t think anything unusual about that.

“You know I was thinking that maybe later I could try working on the keyboard?” he suggested.

[for the boyfriend but can be open!]

Connor nodded as he stood and took their plates to the kitchen to wash them up. He too found himself with a bit more energy than normal for that early in the morning as a certain song seemed to be stuck in his head as he found himself humming a bit as he took care of the dishes.

"That would be great Nick. I think we could definitely get some time in after the call from Becker!"

Cutter smiled, “that would be really good, I don’t know I think I’m ready to finally get back to the keyboard and …

And then before he could stop himself, he started to  sing

Cutter blinked a bit at that and stared at Connor, “that was different,”

Connor looked over at Cutter when he started to sing. It wasn't something he usually did, even when it was just them, so it definitely caught his attention. A smile spread over his face and Connor opened his mouth to say something about how nice a surprise that was only to find himself singing right back at Cutter...

He sort of blinked for a moment. "Ok that was....definitely different..." he said, though there was in fact a big smile on his face all the same.

Cutter’s smile was wide as well, he would probably feel a lot different if he was singing in public but with Connor … this wasn’t that bad?

He opened his mouth to say something else but what came out was more singing, ”I can’t wait til tomorrow, this feeling has swallowed me whole, and you know that I’ve lost control…this heart that I’ve followed has left me so hollow but that was then and this is now, yeah you’ve changed everything …”

Cutter wasn’t entirely sure what was happening at this point, “do you think this is a Fandom thing?” he asked a little warily.

"It..might be... probably is..." Connor said hesitantly. "Not that it's a bad thing really and..."

Then Connor found himself singing again, there in the kitchen with Cutter...

"Well at least it's the truth?" he said with a small somewhat shy grin, the smile definitely still plastered on his face.

Cutter smiled his own shy smile at that but before he could respond, it seemed to be a different song that he was
singing

”We’ll do it all,

When he finished singing, he smiled at Connor, “our check in with Becker’s going to be interesting then,”

Connor nodded with a grin. Maybe if he didn't try and say anything he wouldn't end up singing? Was that how this worked? Who knew. It was Fandom, there was no telling. Connor reached a hand out to pull Cutter over to the sink with him.

As he started washing the dishes it was like couldn't hold it back

I could stay awake just to hear you breathing

Cutter followed Connor over to the sink, he was trying very hard to not start singing again but that didn’t work and … ”I don’t quite know, how to say, how I feel, those three words are said too much, they’re not enough, if I lay here, if I just lay here, would you like with me and just forget the world?”

He sighed, this was definitely going to be an interesting day.

"You know the answer is yes, Nick" Connor said with a grin as he handed him a plate to dry. "At least they are good songs?"

Aaaaaand then there it was again, bubbling up and out as if there was nothing he could do to stop it.

The island was choosing appropriate songs at least. Maybe a little too on the nose but.. it could be worse...

Cutter grinned at that, “that’s true, it would definitely be worse if they weren’t good songs,” he said as he start to dry the plate and then … ”I'll be your dream, I'll be your wish, I'll be your fantasy, I'll be your hope, I'll be your love, be everything that you need, I'll love you more with every breath, truly, madly, deeply do I will be strong, I will be faithful 'cause I'm counting on…”

It was getting a little eerie how closely the songs were reflecting how they were feeling wasn't it?

Connor couldnt keep the smile off his face as they worked on the dishes. The singing was odd but nice in a way... he was definitely noticing a trend with the theme and type of songs that seemed to be coming to their minds now for some reason.

It took some effort but Connor managed to get the dishes washed and helped Cutter dry them. It was then he turned around and pulled Cutter close and gave him a soft kiss. Maybe if they were kissing they wouldn't be singing as much?

It was a good attempt but as soon as the kiss ended...

Cutter very much enjoyed that kiss and thought that the singing might also stop but then Connor started singing and after that it wasn't long before he started singing again as well.

"Well it worth a try anyway," Cutter said with a fond smile.

It was definitely a case of 'once more with feeling' because barely a moment passed from when Cutter had stopped that Connor found his own musical confession spilling out with another song:

Well, he was definitely singing, so the song was at least being truthful about that... among other things...

And there was even more, Cutter had barely had a chance to breathe before the next  song started and he answered in kind.

So the island was definitely doing a thing. And it looked like it was going to be an all-day thing and not just a one off fluke. He smiled as he still held Cutter close and nodded or the couch.

"Should at least attempt to get ready for Becker's call?" he said, half expecting himself to start singing everything he wanted to say- musical style.

It was going to be an interesting call with Becker for sure. Maybe he should send him a text before and give him a heads up that the island was up to its shenanigans again?

Cutter had half been expecting to keep singing so when it seemed they had a chance to speak normally, he nodded, "I think that's a good idea, do you think we're going to be singing during out check in for Becker?" as he leaned in close to Connor.

"We might... the way the morning has started" Connor said as he started towards the couch and sat down, pulling out his phone to text Becker. "Better safe than sorry in case..."

Connor paused, feeling something almost click in his brain a little and the next thing he knew he was singing again...

Yup! Fairly good chance they would be singing at least at some point during the check in with Becker!

Cutter nodded, "that's probably a good idea, who knows what we may end up singing ..."

And then right on cue, Cutter found himself singing again.

He sighed, "well its going to be interesting that's for sure,"

Connor nodded as he set off the text message to Becker. He found himself humming as he did, trying hard not to break into song, at least until the text was sent. As soon as it was off to Becker, despite biting his lip to see if he could resist it, Connor found himself once again singing words that seemed all too familiar and close to his heart lately....

Oh it was going to be a very interesting check in with Becker to be sure. Hopefully, Becker handled his first real experience with Fandom insanity well enough.

Cutter was tapping his foot and humming slightly as he was trying to avoid breaking out in song again as they waited for Becker , he managed a few minutes until he started singing again.

He sighed, it was going to be a long day.

Connor found himself listening to Cutter with a grin as he heard him sing. And as Cutter stopped for a bit, Connor found another song bubbling up inside and coming out....

Becker really needed to call soon, Connor was pretty sure the singing was getting more and more frequent as time went on.

Cutter smiled at that as he waited for Becker’s phone call,

“Has Becker replied yet?” He asked, managing to stop singing long enough to speak.

Connor picked up the phone and nodded. "Text just came in, said he's getting ready to call..." Connor took a deep breath and tried to resist the urge to start singing again. Myabe it he concentrated really hard he could ignore it....

Just then the phone started to ring and with a feeling mixed with relief and nervousness Connor reached out to accept the call.

"H-Hey Becker" he said, half expecting to break into song at any moment."

"Hey there you two... got your tex?" Becker said, a mix of confusion and amusement in his voice. "Is this one of those island things you've talked about so much?"

Cutter opened his mouth to reply and as he feared he started singing

”Well, we don't need no one to tell us what to do

We don't refer to the past when we're showing what we've done

Cutter sighed, “I’m so sorry Becker, its been one of those mornings,”

There was silence on the end of the line for a moment and then the found of Becker chuckling could be heard.

"Ok so you guys really weren't just pulling my leg with that text then?" Becker said. "Ok yeah that ummmm that is a new one for me. It's not like contagious through the phone lines, is it? I don't have to worry about suddenly singing "You Are so Beautiful to Me" at Sarah am I?"
