MHA #16 - Saturday Morning

It had been hard but somehow both Cutter and Connor had managed to behave at Prom until they’d ended up making it back to Cutter’s flat and then ended up having a lot of fun taking off those very nice, very expensive suits and ended up back in the bedroom.

Now it was morning and Cutter was just taking the time to enjoy cuddling up with Connor in the bed, last night had been nice and now he was looking forward to spending the rest of the weekend with Connor and spending as much time with him as he could.

[for the boyfriend, who is modded with permission as well as the eventual visitors]

It really had been a good night hadn't it? And Connor definitely was content to just lay there in that very nice very comfortable bed, all tangled up in his boyfriends's arms.

It had been really, really nice and the best part was they really didn’t have to be anywhere and could lie in as long as they wanted.

He murmured contentedly from where he was leaning snuggled against Connor.

There was absolutely nothing that could change this right?

Connor gave a happy murmur against Cutter's shoulder and gave a soft kiss.

Absolutely nothing that could make this quiet happy moment stop surely.

Cutter let out a contended moan of pleasure at that, “this is nice,” he murmured, eyes still closed as he wrapped his arms around Connor and snuggled in as much as he could.

Somewhere down the hall, the sound of tiny little feet could be heard,

"Da-Da? Papi?"

Cutter had to be dreaming, he could have sworn he just heard a child’s voice outside the room…that was impossible though…

“Do you hear that?” he murmured to Connor, still keeping his eyes closed.

Connor thought he had heard something too, though it had to be just sleepiness still. There were no kids in the flat, right? But then the knob on the bedroom door jiggled and the the door open.

A steak of color flew by landing on the bed. And that was when Connor ended up staring in surprise at the small boy now bouncing on the bed

"Da-Da!" He exclaimed as he threw his arms around Cutter. "Papi!" He claimed even more enthusiastically as he did the same for Connor.

Cutter was definitely awake now, blinking back the last sleep as he was being hugged by a small child calling him ‘da-da,”

“Um…hi,” he managed to gasp out as he watched the small child hug Connor, “where did you come from come from?”

"The kitchen!" he said with a grin. "I'm hungry! When's breakfast?"

Connor looked over at Cutter with a confused look and a small shrug. Island thing? Connor mouthed silently to Cutter. So much for sleeping in that morning.

Cutter looked a little stunned at that and shrugged himself, “it must be,” he mouthed back.

Then a few moments later a girl who was a quite a few years older appeared, “I told you not to run off Teddy, you could have let dad and pops sleep a bit longer,”

And then it was Connor's turn to be surprised, not just the sudden arrival of the other guest, but that 'dad and pops' that definitely hung there.

"Sorry, Tabby..." Teddy said with a small pout. "I didn't mean to wake them up..."

"Hey.. was time for us to be up anyway, so thank you Teddy," Connor said with a grin as he ruffled the boy's hair.

Tabby sighed, “I was trying to make breakfast for you,” she explained, “I wanted it to be a surprise,”she rolled her eyes at that.

Cutter looked at Tabby curiously, something in her expression seemed very familiar but he couldn’t place it just yet.

“You’re making us breakfast?” he asked.

“No offence dad and pops but I would really prefer the fire department didn’t have to get called out here this morning because you decided to try cooking something,”

It wasn't just Cutter finding something familiar about their miniature guests. Something about Teddy seemed very familiar. It was... Almost like looking at a mini version of himself.

"Well how about we go and finish up breakfast together then? " Connor said with a glance over at Cutter

This was odd... but also in a way strangely familiar.... Comforting even.

Cutter smiled at that, “breakfast does sound nice,” he smiled as he looked between Teddy and Tabby curiously, he had always wondered what his life would be like if he had had children and now he was finding that it was an amazing feeling …even if he didn’t quite understand how or why yet.

He started to sit up and tried to find where his pyjama top had ended up.

Connor watched as Teddy bounced off the bed and ran down the hallway, Tabby rolling her eyes as she started after him.

Connor sat there in the bed staring after them for a bit. A soft smile slowly spread over his face.

"So... Kids huh?"

“I know right,” Cutter said with a warm smile, “this is …I never thought…it’s wow,” he finally stammered, “Teddy and Tabby,” his smile widened, “they’re amazing,”

"They are definitely something" Connor agreed with a warm smile of his own.

"Shall we go see what the island has in store for us this time around?" Connor asked as he leaned over and gave Cutter a quick kiss.

“It sounds like a plan,” Cutter smiled, “and we should probably make sure they’re okay in the kitchen, even though it seems like Tabby knows what she’s doing,” he couldn’t help but wonder where she learned to cook.

Connor gave a thoughtful look for a moment then shrugged. It clearly wasn't from either of them, that was for sure.

"Yeah, probably best to make sure Teddy isn't getting into anything. Little man has mischife written all over him."

Because of course, it took one to know one!

Cutter smiled at that, “I think he might take after his papi there,” he said slightly teasing, “I couldn’t imagine where he would learn to get into such mischief,”

That was a bit said the pot to the kettle Cutter, you weren’t completely off the hook either.

"Oh and I am sure he just loathes spending time with Da-Da so he certainly hasn't worn off on him any at all" Connor said with a wink.

"Did all the serious sides rub off and Tabby and poor Teddy get what was left?"

That was part of it ... but only part of it, Connor.

Cutter just winked at that, “I have no idea what you’re talking about,” he said with a completely innocent expression.

He then frowned slightly at the last part “ I’m not sure, there’s something familiar about her expression…I’m seen that before, and that eye roll …if I didn’t know better …I could have sworn she’s the spitting image of Helen?”

Which felt weird to think about.

"Well, there's really no telling what other reality the island could be showing us...." Connor ventured slowly after a moment's thought. "Maybe.... Tabby is what you and Helen may have ended up with if... well... you know..." he said with a small smile.

“I suppose it’s possible that in one reality Helen and I …well had a child together,” he paused, “maybe our marriage was better in that reality?” or Helen had simply followed the same path she did and instead of just abandoning Cutter nearly 9 years ago, she had abandoned their daughter as well.

But he didn’t want to voice that theory out loud.

Connor watched Cutter for a moment, knowing him well enough of course to know where his mind was likely going when what he was choosing not to say out loud just then.

He reached out and pulled him close and into a hug. "Hey, at least you get to enjoy her now, that's what matters right?" he said. "We get the chance to see what some 'might have beens' get to be like," he added with a soft smile.

A voice from down the hallway ended anything else he was about to say, replacing them stead with stuttering blushes.

"Dad? Quit snogging Pops! Breakfast is ready!"
