MHA #13 - Tuesday Morning

Cutter and Connor had another check in with Becker that morning so they were up early as usual, they were finishing up their breakfast , at the moment they blissfully unaware that there was anything out of the ordinary happening that day, even though Cutter did find himself humming a fair a bit, but he didn’t think anything unusual about that.

“You know I was thinking that maybe later I could try working on the keyboard?” he suggested.

Connor found himself listening to Cutter with a grin as he heard him sing. And as Cutter stopped for a bit, Connor found another song bubbling up inside and coming out....

Becker really needed to call soon, Connor was pretty sure the singing was getting more and more frequent as time went on.

Cutter smiled at that as he waited for Becker’s phone call,

“Has Becker replied yet?” He asked, managing to stop singing long enough to speak.

Connor picked up the phone and nodded. "Text just came in, said he's getting ready to call..." Connor took a deep breath and tried to resist the urge to start singing again. Myabe it he concentrated really hard he could ignore it....

Just then the phone started to ring and with a feeling mixed with relief and nervousness Connor reached out to accept the call.

"H-Hey Becker" he said, half expecting to break into song at any moment."

"Hey there you two... got your tex?" Becker said, a mix of confusion and amusement in his voice. "Is this one of those island things you've talked about so much?"

Cutter opened his mouth to reply and as he feared he started singing

”Well, we don't need no one to tell us what to do
Oh, yes, we're on our own and there's nothing you can do

We don't refer to the past when we're showing what we've done

Cutter sighed, “I’m so sorry Becker, its been one of those mornings,”

There was silence on the end of the line for a moment and then the found of Becker chuckling could be heard.

"Ok so you guys really weren't just pulling my leg with that text then?" Becker said. "Ok yeah that ummmm that is a new one for me. It's not like contagious through the phone lines, is it? I don't have to worry about suddenly singing "You Are so Beautiful to Me" at Sarah am I?"

Cutter rubbed the back of his neck as he tried to focus on not singing, "I don't think so? I mean I've never had to deal with this before but I'm pretty sure that this is just a Fandom thing," he sighed.

Connor thought he had been doing pretty good, maybe just maybe, the worst was over.... but then he opened his mouth to poke at Becker for the Sarah comment but instead out came another song ...

"S-Sorry about that Becker" Connor said with a sigh. So much for that thought about it being done!

"Well its definitely an interesting check in for sure," Becker smirked on his end, "don't worry I won't mention this to Christine,"

"Thanks Becker ..." Cutter started to say and then starting singing again, "Well, we don't need no one to tell us what to do

"So before this gets more awkward than it already is...." Too late for that Connor! "We're here at the flat and haven't left today at all other than to do a couple of loads of laundry downstairs..." and Connor closed his mouth as he started humming another bit of the song. Maybe if he just kept his mouth closed?

"Well I think its safe to say I can mark today's check in as complete and that you're complying with the terms of the house arrest," Becker said, sounding rather amused, "all that's left is to check your monitors and we'll say today's check in is done, unless you would like to seep singing at me?"

"I think we've both had enough fill of singing today," Cutter sighed.

"Im sure there will be more...." Connor said trying to get what he wanted to say out between breaths. "But I'd rather keep that to ourselves...while we have some dignity left..."

Connor gave Cutter a lopsided gin and then looked down at the ankle monitor waiting for the lights to flash like usual.

Cutter was doing his absolute best to try and keep quiet as he waited but he found himself humming and tapping his foot as he waited for his monitor to start flashing.

It felt like an entirety, "oh it's flashing," he said, relief filling him that he hadn't started singing just then.

Don't worry, Connor's luck was giving out and as he gave a sigh of relief as his monitor's lights started to flash he found himself starting to sing again... and to his utter embarrassment just then he was singing to CUtter, whatever ilsand shenanigans going on totally not caring that Becker was still on the phone listing.

Connor groaned. Could he just curl up in the corner and pretend like he wasn't there just then?

Yes Becker was absolutely snickering on the phone and Cutter gave Connor a sympathetic smile before he also opened his mouth and started singing.

Cutter sighed as he could Becker trying his best to hide his laughter but absolutely failing.

"So I think we are done with the check in then riht?" Connor said trying to get the call done before he embarrassed himself anymore in front of Becker... as it was he was going to be paying off Becker for years to not let this get out to the rest of the team. "Was good talking to ya Becker..." and Connor bit his lip, visibly trying to bite back the urge to start singing again.

And for a moment Cutter had thought the singing might have stopped and he started stopping say goodbye to Becker but what came out instead was, "There's a sad sort of clanging from the clock in the hall, And the bells in the steeple too
And up in the nursery an absurd little bird, Is popping out to say "cuckoo"

Cutter buried his face in his hand, this was embarrassing.

Becker was failing miserably at his attempts to hide the chuckling. "Goodbye to you both" he said, the grin on his face obvious even over the phone. "Take care and maybe let any other calls go to voicemail today huh?" he added with a chuckle.

"Yeah.... Will do" Connor said dryly though there was a smirk on his face as he hung up, already starting to sing...

At first Cutter thought that the urge to sing had finished when after a few moments of listening to Connor passed and he hadn’t started singing but then sure enough …

Cutter smiled at Connor, “well the song’s not a lie,” he said, feeling his cheeks go rather red.

Oh look there was a flush on Connor's cheeks going even deeper red if that was possible as he smiled at Cutter, finding himself singing again too ...

At least it was better singing to Cutter without an audience. And with a broad grin, Connor reached out and pulled Cutter close as he stood from the couch as wrapped his arms around him as he sang. If they were going to be stuck singing to each other all day they might as well enjoy it right?

It was definitely better when they didn't have to sing over the phone and it wasn't long before Cutter was singing again as he leaned against Connor, getting comfortable.

This actually was rather nice now that they didn't have an audience.

So much better.... didnt matter that he was standing there in the living room in his boxers and shirt. All that mattered was he was standing there with the man he loved. As he smiled and pulled Cutter closer, arms wrapping around his waist as he held him, Connor kept singing, a broad grin on his face as he did...

Cutter leaned against Connor's chest, as he was pulled in closer, this was so nice and actually it wasn't a bad way to spend the day now that they were free from their audience.

And yes there was still more singing ...

It was very nice just getting to be together like this. And hearing the words that he and Nick were singing to each other and knowing how honest and real they were- even if it was the island making them say them at last- Connor smiled and pulled Cutter close and kissed him. There was no singing if they were kissing but that was just a secondary perk as all Connor wanted to do was enjoy being with Cutter just then.

The kissing was definitely very nice and of course the added bonus of having a break from the singing as Cutter leaned in close to Connor and kissed him.

He wrapped his arms around Connor as he curled up against him on the couch and passionately leaned into that kiss.

After all the very lovey-dovey singing and all it was since to just be together like this. and Connor was definitely taking the time to enjoy every bit of it.

But eventually breathing once again became a thing and he reluctantly broke the kiss. He looked at Cutter for a moment then as if on cue the singing started again as he smiled at Nick...

Connor smiled as he stood and tugged Cutter along with him pulling him closer as he started moving towards the keyboard as he kept singing.
