Professor Nick Cutter

Cutter smiled as he gratefully hugged Becker and then he looked at where Becker was indicating, “well this is for your birthday, it’s only fair that you get to pick where you want to sleep tonight,”

Even as he said it, after spending a fair deal of time with him lately, he had a fair idea of where he was going to choose to end up sleeping.

"Well if it's all the same to you tow, I think I will opt for the pull-out couch tonight. I know the super fancy memory foam mattresses and all are all the same. But honestly, they almost are too softy and fluffy for my taste."

Honestly, when you were used to roughing it in every night, even a cot or a pull out was like a luxury upgrade in many ways.

Cutter had expected as much and he nodded, “well it is your birthday,” he said, “that’s more than okay if you want the pull out couch,” he assured Becker, he glanced over at Connor, “I guess that leaves us with the bed?”

They were both mature, responsible adults. They could handle sharing a bed as friends right?

Sure no awkwardness there at all! They could do this- no need for trope-related concerns at all.

"Sounds good. We'll make it work," Connor said with a nod, though he did think he caught a slight smirk from Becker. He wasn't intentionally doing this to them was he?

Becker had only their best interest at hearts, even though maybe there was a bit of ulterior matchmaking going on ... not that he would ever reveal that would he?

"This is fine, there's plenty of space ... we'll be fine," Cutter nodded, he could do this, he had been making good progress on that front ... even though he couldn't help but remember the last time he and Connor shared a hotel room and how...really nice that had been.

"Well that is a problem for future us to figure out" Connor said with a smirk. "I think some mindless TV scrawling and a bit of take out is in order?"

And it was a big enough bed, the there of them could pile in for some terrible reality TV watching without things getting too awkward right?

Cutter smiled at that, "that sounds wonderful, I mean if its okay with you Becker as well, we'll let you pick the tv show to watch since this is for your birthday and all,"

It was definitely big enough for all of them, if they fell asleep watching terrible reality tv then problem would be solved right?

"Now that sounds like a great way to end an amazing birthday!" Becker said with a grin.

And guess what, boys? You were going to see the rare and hardly ever before seen casual Becker! AKA Becker in back sleep pants and a black shirt. So ya know... pretty much the same thing!

"Then it sounds like a plan," Cutter grinned, "you pick what tv show we watch and what we'll have for take out and we can celebrate the end of your birthday celebrations,"

"Im thinking a few episodes of The Beta for Survivor would be a good way to go... and as far as food.... how about some nice Italian ?" Becker said as he flopped back on the bed, staying to one side to give room for Cutter and Connor to get themselves situated.

"Sounds great," Cutter grinned as sat down on the bed in the middle as he got out his phone so he could start to place the food order, "what dishes should we order? Maybe we could get some nice wine as well,"

If there was no doubt about it before Cutter was definitely losing credit card privileges after all of this.

"Get some nice pasta dishes, bread sticks, the usual" Connor said with a grin. "And definitely some wine too! Sounds good" Connor added as he sat on the edge of the bed and grabbed the remote off the table to hand over to Becker.

"Okay let me place the order," Cutter grinned as he ordered several pasta dishes and bread sticks and of course some very expensive wine that Lester was not going to be happy about reading the charges to his credit card, "I think we can definitely start the evening festivities of watching tv and when the food arrives, eating amazing Italian food," he grinned

Becker flipped through the channels and finally found the one he was looking for. "There we go- and it looks like there's a marathon going for the show, so we should be set for a while!" You guys weren't hoping to watch anything else that night were you?

Cutter smiled as he settled in to get comfortable, "oh reality tv marathons are amazing," he said, "I know I got quite addicted to a few ~~meta for~~ Big Brother marathons," he admitted.

Connor shifted on the bed to try and get comfortable. It was a bit of a challenge trying to find the right spot to see the TV and not fall off the edge of the bed while still giving Cutter enough room. Ya know cuz there was nothing awkward about the arrangement. "I'll just hop up when the food gets here then?

There was definitely nothing at all awkward about this arrangement at all, "I can help you with the food when it gets here," Cutter offered, "so you don't have to carry all of it?"

Becker sat on the bed, obvlivious- or at least pretending to be- to the conversation Cutter and Connor were having. He had found his show and was already getting wrapped up in the episode playing. They were grown adults. They would figure it. Not like he would ever, ever get involved and try to influence things. Never!

Cutter got comfortable in the bed, even if he found himself leaning more against Becker so that Connor could have space on the bed, "the food shouldn't be too long," he said as every now and then he looked up at the tv to see what was happening, there was something quite comforting about reality tv.

"Sounds good! I'm starving.... we done a lot of walking and stuff since lunch" Connor said, totally ignoring the fact that he was almost always ready to eat when food was available.

As they waited for the food, Connor watched the show some, not really getting the appeal of this particular show, but maybe it would grow on him a bit...

Connor smiled at that, "I'm definitely looking forward to it, we had an amazing lunch and now we've going to have an amazing dinner, I must admit I'm quite hungry as well now,"

"Well then Nick, I hope you ordered enough food for all of us" Becker said with a wink. And a few minutes later the knock on the door told them their answer would soon be known.

Connor got up and went to the door. He handed several of the bags to Cutter when he got there and then paid and tipped the delivery guy and carried the rest of the containers over.

"Alright. Let's dig in!" he said with a grin as he sat down at the foot of the bed so he could face Cutter and Connor while they ate.

"Now that sounds like a plan I can get behind!" Becker said with a laugh.

Cutter grinned as they all started to eat their food, "well I hope you've definitely had an amazing birthday celebration Becker, we'll have to start working on how to top it for next year,"

Well at least one thing was for certain, next year's wasn't going to be boring.

"Not sure how you plan to top this one but I will eagerly await next year to see what you both come up with!"

No... Becker... don't say that!

Becker smiled as he looked at where they were- enjoying an amazing day all about him, in the most posh hotel he had ever stepped foot in, at the end of what had definitely been his best birthday celebration ever, with two people he considered some of this best friends, really good food, amazingly terrible reality TV.... he really couldn't think of any way to top this!
