The ARC - London

It had been a very long and busy several days once Cutter and Connor had returned to London. Even though they were no longer involved with the field work, there was still a lot of research to be done both with the ARC and Prospero.

Cutter and Connor had been given an office to work out of while they were back for the summer, since Cutter’s old office now belonged to Danny ,and there were papers and books all over the office. Cutter was still trying to figure out what some of the numbers from the anomaly prediction model before they had left Fandom and the numbers and data was starting to blur together and he rubbed his eyes tiredly.

“I’m starting to think we might need a break,” he remarked with a sheepish smile from where he had taken a spot on the floor, surrounded by a pile of papers and notebooks.

"Sounds like a plan," Danny nodded, "I'll keep an eye on the security detail here as well, make sure no bugs have been planted, at least that way we'll know we're in the clear to talk to Lester without tipping off Phillip what we suspect," he said.

"Oh very good idea yes... Helen had planted bugs all around the ARC before so... it is definitely possible that Phillip might try and do something similar or has already got bugs in the main areas and labs." Connor looked at Becker and Danny. "I can try and work it to convince Phillip and Connor
to actually plant bugs... ones I design that will feed us information and deliver false data to them."

Danny grinned, "oh I like that, I definitely think that will work and we can see what they do with the false data as well, maybe that will help slow things down and stop them from achieving whatever their end goals are,"

"Exactly! Give them some red herrings to chance and slow them down! Buy us some time to get ahead of them," Connor said with a nod. "And I can help feed the info back and forth, real and fake, if I end up getting on Phillip's good side again."

"Okay, so I think we have our goals for the next few days then," Danny nodded, "we'll meet back here and then go and talk to Lester about our findings and see what he thinks our next course of action should be, I also think we should keep these discussions to ourselves for now," he added, "I don't want the others to find out if it can be helped,"

Connor saw Becker shift a little and start to open his mouth but stayed quiet, slowly nodding. He knew it must be hard to keep some things from Sarah after everything. But Danny was right, they needed to keep this as tight as they could between just the four of them for now. And it would also keep Sarah safer too, if she knew as little as possible about what Propsero might be getting into. He put a hand on Becker's shoulder as he nodded to Danny and gave a small smile when Becker put a hand over his and nodded in silent understanding and agreement.

Danny felt bad, knowing that Becker wanted to tell Sarah and he would speak to him privately after but for now they had to make sure that everyone kept it quiet, "then we're all in agreement?" he said once he saw Cutter nod his ascent as well, "okay, we'll see what we can find out in a few days and then take it from there, I also want all of us to be in regular contact as well, we don't have to say what we've found but I would feel better knowing everyone was reachable," he added.

"I agree" Becker said softly. I can work on getting us new burner phones so we can talk without the risk of someone having tapped our known phone lines. We can keep in touch each day just to make sure everyone is alright.

"And once we have the phones, I can add on a program that will make them harder to tap and bug too" Connor said with a nod. "Will help give us another layer of protection as we work."

Danny nodded, "we should definitely do that, anything that can make it harder for Phillip to know what we're planning," he said, pausing for a moment as he considered their options, "and having a code word wouldn't be a bad idea either, in case Phillip happens to be near or if one of us does get in trouble," he said, "I know it seems like a lot but I definitely would rather have too much protection than not enough," he said as he looked around the group.

"Honestly? After everything we have been through? I do not think there is such a thing as being too cautious or having too many layers of protection in place. " Connor gave a small shudder at thinking over everything that had happened... with Helen, Wilder, Stephen, and everything else. "I will work on getting us those phones and getting them set up and ready for us. Shouldn't take too long!"

Danny nodded, "then we'll check in a couple of days to see what progress we've been made in the meantime," he said, "and see what evidence we can find until we go talk to Lester, but we all need to be on high alert, there's no telling what Phillip would be capable of with all his resources and connections, I don't want to take any chances,"

"Agreed" Becker said with a nod. I will keep tabs on the security feeds and work with you Connor and Cutter to set things up. I will also fill Sarah in and we will do what we can to continue to collect and process data from the anomalies on our end. Maybe it would give us something to compare to Prospero 's work. If Philip is manipulating the anomalies, that might be an early indication."

Cutter nodded, “that would help us a lot with the research,” he said, “I can compare the data to Helen’s notebook as well, see if anything matches up and give us an idea with what we’re dealing with,”

"sounds like we have our assignments," Becker said with a small nod. "I'd say give you and Connor a few days to get settled in fully and get into a rhythm with Philip. Then we can meet here again... say on Tuesday... and we can talk? Could do it after mine and Danny's usual weekly security meeting."

Cutter nodded, "Tuesday sounds fine," he said, "that will give us enough chance to see how our Connor is as well and work out what he's been working on and hopefully between that and working with Phillip again we'll have more answers to compare notes," he added.

"Agree- should be enough time to get the initial data together" Connor agreed with a nod as he reached over and gave Cutter's hand a squeeze.

"And of course we will keep in touch if anything comes up before then" Becker added. "We got this. We will figure out what is going on and do what we have to to protect the anomalies."

Danny nodded, "alright, I think we have enough to work on to keep us busy these next couple of days and then we'll meet again on Tuesday, with regular check ins, I want everyone to stay alert and be careful," he added.
