A Week in London

[itsananomaly]

While they had a bit of time before they were due back at the ARC and before they had to head back to Fandom, Cutter decided it was time to start sorting through everything they had in the house. Mostly deciding what needed to go and what new things they needed to buy. He stood in the middle of the living room, "this might take us a while," he said sheepishly. [and a look at some slice of life for our boys. Preplayed with the amazing anomaly_research_nerd. NFB for distance but OOC welcome!]

Connor(anomaly_research_nerd)	"We'll figure it out together" Connor said with a smile as he walked up beside Cutter and slipped his hand into his, giving him an encouraging squeeze. "I think the best place to start might be the bigger pieces of furniture. Like the couch" he said as he led them over so they could sit and start the process.
Cutter(itsananomaly)	"Aye," Cutter said with a smile as he held Connor's hand, "that's probably not a bad thing to start with, I think the orange armchair needs to go, it really doesn't work with the rest of the decor does it?" he considered as they sat down on the couch.
Connor(anomaly_research_nerd)	"And it's a bit old too, could do with something newer and probably a little more comfortable" Connor nodded. "We could always get a nice recliner, a place to rest and relax. I could see you taking naps there on a Sunday afternoon or falling asleep while we watch terrible reality shows." .
Cutter(itsananomaly)	Cutter grinned at that, "now that's definitely something I could get behind," he said, "maybe we can get a couple of armchairs for the two of us to recline in and watch terrible reality shows?"
Connor(anomaly_research_nerd)	"Like the way you think there Nick. There's definitely enough room. Could still keep the couch or get a new one if we wanted and then have two recliners over there where the armchair is." Connor got up and stood behind the armchair. "Yeah that should work,m we couldn't even really have the change the layout much or move the telly!"
Cutter(itsananomaly)	"Oh yes that could definitely work quite nicely," Cutter smiled, "I'm not sure about changing the couch, its still pretty good and ... quite comfortable," he added shyly over at Connor, his cheeks going a little red.
Connor(anomaly_research_nerd)	"You got a point there that's for sure" Connor agreed, a small flush spreading over his cheeks as well. "Ok so armchair goes, couch stays. See? We're making really good progress already! "What about the table and chairs?" he asked nodding to the dining table on the far side of the room. "We definitely don't need anything bigger right now but should we downgrade and get some space back for now?"
Cutter(itsananomaly)	Cutter grinned, "very good progress," he said, "maybe we don't need as many chairs," he considered, "I'm sure we can make do with the couch and armchairs if we have people over and need space," he added.
Connor(anomaly_research_nerd)	"That was what I was thinking. We can get a few dinner tray stands for when we have company over. They can easily fold up and be kept out of the way and brought out when we need them." Connor looked around for a moment. "I think that's the major furniture stuff to figure out right now. What... about the bookshelves?'he asked somewhat hesitantly, knowing that was probably going to be a little more difficult considering there were probably books of Helen's and Stephen's still mixed in among the shelves. .
Cutter(itsananomaly)	Cutter's smile faltered a little bit as he stared over at the bookshelves, "I ... we do need to go through them," he said after a few minutes, he knew there were a lot of Helen's and Stephen's books in there, "especially since I haven't put away the books that we got from my office at the uni ...I ..." his voice trailed off uncertainly.
Connor(anomaly_research_nerd)	Connor didn’t waste any time and walked over and put his arms around Cutter's shoulders and gave him a firm hug. "Hey, hey.. it's ok Nick. We can do it together alright? Or if you'd rather leave the bookshelves for later that is fine too. There is absolutely no rush with any of this ok... we have all the time we need" he said as he gently rubbed Cutter's back, figuring what was going through his mind just then. "We're going to do this together."
Cutter(itsananomaly)	Cutter nodded as he hugged Connor, starting to feel a little overwhelmed with the tasks that lay ahead, "okay ... its ...together," he said at last, "I want to do the bookshelves now," he said softly as he leaned against Connor's shoulder, "I ... I need to do this, but I ... I don't want to do this alone," he said softly.
Connor(anomaly_research_nerd)	"And you won't be alone Nick.I will be right here, we will do this together" Connor reassured him. "And we can do as much or as little as you want ok?" Connor knew this had to be hard for Cutter considering how much history was wrapped up in the house and he wanted to do whatever he could to help make it even a little easier. "How about this? You stay here on the couch and I will grab an armful of books and bring them over and we can go through them together?"
Cutter(itsananomaly)	Cutter nodded at that, "I would like that, thank you," he said softly, "I ... I want to try and get as much done as we can, to try and go through things in the house, so we can start making this place ours," he managed a shaky smile at Connor.
Connor(anomaly_research_nerd)	"Aye and we have already made a good start" Connor said with a nod as he let Cutter get situated on the couch and he went to the bookshelf. He returned a few minutes later with an armload of books. There really had not been much rhyme or reason to how things were on the shelf so it was quite the mix of titles and topics he brought over. "This will be a good start. Let's get through these and see how you feel about doing another load" Connor said as he finished setting the books down on the coffee table and sat back beside Cutter on the couch. .
Cutter(itsananomaly)	Cutter took a deep breath as he tried to mentally prepare himself for this task, "alright I ... I like the sound of that," he said softly as he started to go through the titles of books that he, Helen and Stephen had amassed through the years. "Well I think a couple of these guide books can go," he said, as he picked them up, "these are several years old now, from some of my older digs,"
Connor(anomaly_research_nerd)	Connor nodded and took the guidebooks Cutter handed him and set them on the floor at his feet for the 'discard pile.' "Now I think the coffee table books could stay? There's some really cool pictures in them" he said as he flipped through one and then set it down on the floor in the start of another pile of books to keep.
Cutter(itsananomaly)	"I think that's a really good idea, its time they were put on display," Cutter agreed as he sorted through some more books, "these are a couple of dictionaries that are a few years old, I don't think we need to keep these," he took a deep breath, telling himself that this was fine, they were making good progress.
Connor(anomaly_research_nerd)	"We can definitely buy updated dictionaries and reference books so I agree, those can go" Connor nodded encouragingly. His eyes kept going to a couple of the books that looked like fiction books and he couldn't help but wonder if they had been Cutters or if they had belonged to Helen or Stephen.
Cutter(itsananomaly)	Cutter nodded, "we can definitely do that, keep a couple of updated dictionaries and reference books for us to use here," and then his eyes looked over to the fiction books that Connor was looking at, he tried to keep his hands from shaking, "they were Helen's ..." he said, "she liked ... likes reading crime thrillers,"
Connor(anomaly_research_nerd)	Connor was quiet for the moment. He knew this was going to be a process for Cutter. He knew this was a big step and he was proud of Cutter for even attempting this. "If you want we can take them somewhere to donate them. Maybe the library? That way we're not throwing them out and someone else who likes these kinds if books can get some enjoyment out of them?" he suggested with a gentle smile. .
Cutter(itsananomaly)	Cutter was quiet for a few minutes as he was lost in thought, remembering those times that Helen would take out a book to read while he was doing research. He nodded, "I ... taking them to the library would be best," he said softly, "there's probably a few books in there that could be taken to the library,"
Connor(anomaly_research_nerd)	Connor reached over and put a hand on Cutter's knee and gave a soft squeeze. "We'll do that then, and we can work up a list of any books you would want to get to read and collect and start building a collection of our own."
Cutter(itsananomaly)	Cutter took a deep breath, "I like the sound of that, I know I haven't read to many fiction books, I always preferred to read research books, I guess now that I'm retired from the university I should take advantage of the extra time," he considered.
Connor(anomaly_research_nerd)	"I think a mix would be good. Enjoy the retirement with some laid-back reading but we can keep some of the research type books. Might be helpful for me as I start looking at classes and planning things" Connor considered. "We have plenty of room so we can always add more shelves and keep things organized."
Cutter(itsananomaly)	Cutter gave a small smile at that, "that does sound nice," he said, "building a collection of our own books and adding new shelves and I can help you plan and research for classes as well if you'd like me to,"
Connor(anomaly_research_nerd)	"I'd love that! I will need all the help I can get" Connor said with a small chuckle. "I might have the degree but I know I still have a ways to go to be able to be a good teacher and be a professor." .
Cutter(itsananomaly)	Cutter smiled, "you are already a good teacher," he assured Connor, "and you'll be an even greater professor," he smiled, "Professor Connor Temple has a nice ring to it,"
Connor(anomaly_research_nerd)	"It does doesn't it?" Connor grinned. "And I know I will get there with your help." Connor stood and before heading to the shelf for another load of books he leaned over and gave Cutter a soft kiss. He then smiled and headed for the bookshelf.
Cutter(itsananomaly)	Cutter smiled at that kiss as he tried to get comfortable, taking a deep breath as he waited for Connor to come back with the next stack of books.
Connor(anomaly_research_nerd)	"Alright here we go, load number two! Looks like some travel guide books and such for the most part" he said as he set the armload down on the coffee table.
Cutter(itsananomaly)	"Well that should be easy enough to sort through," Cutter said, feeling a bit better that he was sure there wasn't a lot of memories tied up in the travel books, "I think a lot of those are out of date by a few years so I think most of them can go,"
Connor(anomaly_research_nerd)	Connor nodded and grabbed one of the books and opened it, looking for the published date to see how old it was. It was a travel guide book about South America highlighting some of the big archeological sites of the time. As he picked it up, something slipped out of the book and fluttered to the ground at their feet. .
Cutter(itsananomaly)	Cutter looked down at what had fallen on the ground and picked it up, turning it around and then his hand started shaking, it was a photo of him, Helen and Stephen when they went on a dig in South America. He couldn't say anything, he just stared at that photo.
Connor(anomaly_research_nerd)	"OK the book's about six years old so yeah, I'd say we could get something more updated if we wanted to replace it. What do you think Nick?" Connor waited a moment and when Cutter didn't answer he turned and looked at him. "Nick? Are you alright? What's wrong?" he asked, the concern evident on his face and in his voice.
Cutter(itsananomaly)	It took Cutter a moment to register that Connor was talking to him, "it's ..." he showed Connor the photo of him, Helen and Stephen, how happy they had been back then. He couldn't say anything else, tears started to fall down his cheeks.
Connor(anomaly_research_nerd)	Connor looked at the photo and felt a certain twinge of his own stab him in his chest as he looked at Cutter. "Oh Cutter...."he said as he shifted a little closer, slowly slipping his arm around Cutter's shoulder. He looked at the picture realizing how much younger Nick looked and knowing this was from long before he had ever turned up in Cutter's life.
Cutter(itsananomaly)	"I'm sorry," Cutter let out a sob as he leaned against Connor, "I thought ... I didn't think it was going to have this impact on me ... I'll ... I'll get rid of the photo," he stared at the photo, he couldn't stop his hands from shaking.
Connor(anomaly_research_nerd)	"Shhhh it's ok Nick" Connor said, his voice wavering a little as he looked at the photo. "We... neither of us were expecting this..." Connor pulled Cutter closer and rubbed his back gently, not really knowing what to say just then. .
Cutter(itsananomaly)	Tears were falling down Cutter's cheeks as he sobbed into Connor's chest, he was still clutching that photo, he tried to drop it but found that he couldn't and he clutched it even tighter, "I'm sorry," he kept sobbing.
Connor(anomaly_research_nerd)	Connor wrapped his arms around Cutter tightly. He reached a hand out and laid it over Cutter's trembling one. He made no move to try and take the photo, just kept his hand there, holding Cutter's gently, trying to comfort him even as the tear started to form in his own eyes as the swirl of emotions grew inside. "Nothing to be sorry about Nick" Connor said as he held him tightly. "I know it's part of your past. It's nothing to apologize for."
Cutter(itsananomaly)	Cutter wrapped his arms tightly around Connor as he sobbed, "I ... I shouldn't ... be with this weak, its a ... its a photo," he managed to get out in between his tears, "I shouldn't ... be upset about ... about a photo,"
Connor(anomaly_research_nerd)	"It's a special photo" Connor said softly. "It makes sense you would have strong feelings about it." Connor pulled back a little and looked at Cutter as he reached up and tried to wipe away some of those tears even as the tears brimmed in his own. "We can stop going through things for now.It's ok" he said gently
Cutter(itsananomaly)	Cutter let out another sob but nodded as Connor wiped away some of those tears, "I ... I think a break sounds like a good idea," he said softly.
Connor(anomaly_research_nerd)	"You stay right there. I'll be right back" Connor said as he let go of Cutter's hand and stood. "I'm going to get the blanket off the bed and we can sit here on the couch for as long as you need" he said as he gave Cutter's shoulder a squeeze and then headed to the bedroom. .
Cutter(itsananomaly)	Cutter took a deep breath as Connor left and then he stared down at that photo still shaking in his hand, he waited a few more minutes and then he stood up and went over to the trash can, he held the photo over it and he finally let it drop in the bin. The tears flowing again down his cheeks again as he did.
Connor(anomaly_research_nerd)	Connor came back a few minutes later with a couple of pillows and the blanket from the bed. He put them on the couch and looked at Cutter. "Nick? Whatcha doing?" He had an idea he knew but he wasn't going to push. "Want to come and sit for a bit?" he asked trying to keep his own emotions in check just then.
Cutter(itsananomaly)	Cutter trembled, "I ... I'm throwing out the photo," he shifted slightly, not quite able to meet Connor's eyes, "I need to throw the photos out,"
Connor(anomaly_research_nerd)	Connor watched Cutter for a moment as he got the couch set up for them. He didn't mention the photos, instead he walked over and put his arm around Cutter's shoulder and started to pull him towards the couch. "Come on Nick. You need to sit down and rest" he said gently.
Cutter(itsananomaly)	Cutter just stared numbly as he leaned against Connor, he didn't say anything as Connor began to lead him towards the couch.
Connor(anomaly_research_nerd)	Connor got him over to the couch and sat him down, situating him with the pillows and wrapping the blanket around his shoulders. He watched Cutter with concern, trying to figure out how best to help him It hurt him seeing the man he loved so distraught and upset. "Want some tea?" he asked softly. .
Cutter(itsananomaly)	Cutter wrapped the blankets around him tightly as he leaned against the pillows, "yes please," he said numbly, "some tea would be nice,"
Connor(anomaly_research_nerd)	Connor reached out and gently brushed the hair back from Cutter's face before placing a soft kiss on the top of his head and then headed for the kitchen. As he got the water ready for the tea Connor looked into the trash bin, staring at the photo that was lying at the top. Stared at it for a long while and then got the tea ready and carried a cup over to the couch. "Here you go Nick" he said as he handed the tea over and sat down on the couch.
Cutter(itsananomaly)	"Thank you," Cutter said softly as he held the tea in his hands, feeling the warmth flow through him, he stared down at his tea for a few moments, "I'm sorry,"
Connor(anomaly_research_nerd)	Connor gently rubbed Cutter's head, running his fingers through his hair. "I know this is hard for you Nick. I know it is a lot to process and deal with. You don't have to go at this alone" he said as he kept rubbing Cutter's head trying to help him calm down some.
Cutter(itsananomaly)	Cutter leaned into that touch, "I thought... I thought I had moved passed this, I didn't think ... I didn't think one photo could ... could do all of that...unlock all of those memories for me," he said softly.
Connor(anomaly_research_nerd)	"It's a photo with memories. It's more than a photo, it is a part of who you were, what you had before" Connor said softly. "That is not something you can just cut of and throw away easily" Connor said as he took a deep breath then took Curtter's hand and held it in his then he put something inside it. "And that is why you should keep this. For now": he said as he pulled his hand away, revealing the photo he had grabbed out of the trashcan. .
Cutter(itsananomaly)	Cutter stared at the photo that had been put in his hand, "are you sure?" he said quietly, "I don't ... I know this is upsetting for you, I ... I can get rid of the photos," his hand shook and he put down his cup of tea.
Connor(anomaly_research_nerd)	Connor reached out and gently stroked Cutter's cheek for a moment. "What bothers me more is seeing how much you are hurting, Nick," he said gently. "This is more than just a photo. I know that. It's a memory, and a good memory from a better time. I'd be selfish to make you get rid of something that means a lot to you simply because it's not about me." Connor reached over and pulled Cutter close and looked at the photo with him. "You don't have to get rid of the good memories Nick. I'm not going to ask you to do that."
Cutter(itsananomaly)	Cutter leaned into that touch as Connor pulled him close, he bit his lip as he stared at the photo with Connor, "it ... it was the first trip we all ever did, not long after He...Helen and I met St...Stephen," his voice broke as he stammered out their names, "it was a new site that had been discovered and we'd been asked to consult on the dig and we asked Stephen to come with us,"
Connor(anomaly_research_nerd)	"Sounds like a really fun trip. You all look really happy" Connor said softly as he looked at the photo. "I bet Stephen was eating up every moment of being someplace like that." Connor couldn't help a small smile thinking about the times Stephen had tried to teach him things like tracking and wilderness survival and their whole 'you mighty hunter, I more support and backup' conversation.
Cutter(itsananomaly)	Cutter trembled as he thought back to that trip, "it was a fun trip," he said softly, "and Stephen loved it, he was always off trying to some extreme tourist activity or going off camping on his own, half the time if you wanted to find Stephen all you had to do was look near the rocks and he was doing rock climbing,"
Connor(anomaly_research_nerd)	"Yeah that sounds like Stephen" Connor said as he rubbed Cutter's back a little. "Remember the disaster weekend trip he and I went on? He wanted to teach me how to do basic camping and all. We left Friday afternoon and were back at the ARC by Saturday morning that was how bad it went. He was definitely made for that kind of stuff, unlike me." .
Cutter(itsananomaly)	Cutter managed a small smile at that memory, "I remember that trip," he said softly, "Stephen was really determined to make you a camping expert, I think even he had to give up on the idea that he could teach someone to love camping,"
Connor(anomaly_research_nerd)	"He got plenty of that with you and... Helen..." Connor said softly as he looked back at the picture. "You were getting a bit of sun on that trip weren't ya?" Connor said noting the sunburn on Cutter's face despite the floppy hat he had on in the photo. "Did Stephen manage to drag you away from the dig site enough to do any of the outdoorsy adventure stuff with him?"
Cutter(itsananomaly)	"it was definitely hot out there," Cutter nodded, " and he did ... that's ... that's how I tried windsurfing for the first time," he said softly, "I'd never done it before and we had a day off from the site, so we went to the coast and we did windsurfing," he stared at that photo at those memories.
Connor(anomaly_research_nerd)	"Well that's one more thing I owe to Stephen then" Connor said gently. "Because I quite enjoy the times we've been able to go windsurfing so far. It's a good way to remember the past and enjoy our future. We don't have to forget the past but we don't have to get lost there either."
Cutter(itsananomaly)	Cutter took a deep breath and nodded, “and I’ve enjoyed taking you windsurfing as well,” he said softly, “it’s …I thought I was doing better at that, I guess I still need some improvement there,”
Connor(anomaly_research_nerd)	"We'll get there Nick. We'll figure it out, together" Connor said softly as he gave Cutter a squeeze and leaned his head on his shoulder, still looking at the photo. "I can't imagine what it must be like.. going through all of this... But you don't have to do it alone, I am here to help in any way I can. I love you Nick, and I want to help you through this." .
Cutter(itsananomaly)	Cutter nodded, "thank you for being here," he said softly, "it means a lot to have you here, I know its not easy for you either, talking about my past...what I once had with Helen and Stephen but I want you to know that you're my future Connor," he said as he looked up at him, "I love you so much,"
Connor(anomaly_research_nerd)	"And you are my future too Nick" Connor said softly. "We both have pasts and relationships and things that have shaped us. But what matters to me is you...and me... together. We are going to build a future together and I can't wait for that. There's nowhere else I'd rather be than right here beside you Nick, even right now. I love you so much" Connor said as he placed a kiss on Cutter's head.
Cutter(itsananomaly)	Cutter gave a smile at that as he leaned against Connor, "and you are what matters to me and I'm looking forward to building our future as well, I love you Connor, more than anything, thank you for being here with me,"
Connor(anomaly_research_nerd)	"Thank you for letting me be here with you" Connor said as he held CUtter close. "Ya know what I think we need to do, later? We need to take a picture of ourselves, kick off our journey together with a picture of ourselves here."
Cutter(itsananomaly)	Cutter's smile widened a that, "I think that's a very good idea," he said, feeling a bit better, "I do like the sound of taking the first of many pictures here,"
Connor(anomaly_research_nerd)	Connor smiled, glad Cutter seemed to be relaxing a bit. "Aye. we'll have plenty of photos of our own to put up eventually." Connor shifted and leaned back on the couch, holding his arms out for Cutter if he wanted to put the photo down and cuddle for a bit. "I think we've earned ourselves a nice little rest" he said with a soft smile. .
Cutter(itsananomaly)	Cutter gave the photo one last look and then put it down on the table before he curled up into Connor's arms, leaning on his chest, "I think a rest does sound like a good idea," he said with a soft smile of his own.
Connor(anomaly_research_nerd)	Connor was glad Cutter agreed and smiled as he pulled him close, smiling broader at the feel of Nick being so close. "Love you Nick. More than anything. I know we have a bright and wonderful future ahead of us together and I look forward to enjoying every moment of it with you" Connor leaned closer and kissed Cutter softly as he pulled the blanket around them.
Cutter(itsananomaly)	Cutter returned that kiss as he leaned in closer, "I love you too Connor," he said with a small smile, "and I'm looking forward to building our future together and being with you every step of the way,"
Connor(anomaly_research_nerd)	Connor smiled at that and kept the kiss going for a while then laid back on the couch and kept his arms wrapped around Cutter, reaching up to gently rub his head as they enjoyed just being together there in the moment. He knew there would be difficulties and they would be dealing with this and other small issues from the past. But he knew they would manage it together. The future together was all he wanted and all he needed and Connor was determined to make it as good a one for them both as he could.
Cutter(itsananomaly)	It was a few days later, they were getting closer to their week off being finished before they headed back to the ARC and to Fandom and Cutter and Connor had decided to do a shopping trip to get some new things for the house and some new books as well for their bookshelves. “It’s a good thing Lester gave us use of the credit card as an engagement present,” Cutter said with a grin as they got prepared to head out.
Connor(anomaly_research_nerd)	"I know, that was really swell of him!" Connor said as they walked down the street towards the first shop they were heading to. "Helping offset the cost of getting everything shipped to the house is a big help in and of itself!"
Cutter(itsananomaly)	Cutter grinned at that, "aye, it will definitely help us, there's quite a lot of things that we need to buy for too so having an unlimited budget will definitely come in handy,"
Connor(anomaly_research_nerd)	Connor nodded and then stopped outside the first store. "Figured get the bedding and everything first then we can look at the other things we need. Save the books and fun stuff for last?" It was all fun stuff really and Connor was thrilled to be shopping for once. .
Cutter(itsananomaly)	"That sounds the perfect way to finish the shopping trip, we can even go out and get some lunch as well in between," Cutter said with a grin as he looked at the first place they had come to, "really make a day of it,"
Connor(anomaly_research_nerd)	"Sounds like a good date plan" Connor said with a grin as he took Cutter's hand in his and then walked into the store. "So... bedding and laundry stuff first? This place is supposed to be pretty good for that sort of thing... towels, sheets, and whatnot."
Cutter(itsananomaly)	Cutter smiled, "sounds good, its time the bedding at the house got updated, I can't remember the last time I actually bought new sheets and towels, we can buy a few things to take back to Fandom with us as well," he considered.
Connor(anomaly_research_nerd)	"Oh good idea Nick, i definitely need a couple more towels at the flat back in Fandom. Could do with some new pillows and blankets too. Rex kinda made a mess of them over the winter with his hibernation burrowing" he said with a fond chuckle.
Cutter(itsananomaly)	Cutter grinned at that, "and I figured it was time to fresh things up a bit, change some of the towels and things around, it's nice that we can do this, I didn't think going sheet and towel shopping could be this exciting," he admitted.
Connor(anomaly_research_nerd)	"It's definitely a lot more enjoyable than when I did it for the dorms back at Uni" Connor said with a small laugh, remembering the utter chaos that was the flat he, Tom, and Duncan had shared. "Alright so, looks like bedding is over here" he said as hegave Cutter's hand a squeeze before letting go and checking the different sheets and all. "Ummmm.... any idea what thread count is?' he asked with a curious head tilt. "Or what.... Egyptian Cotton is?" Somewhere Lester was probably getting a nervous twitch for some reason at how totally lost they were with this sort of thing. .
Cutter(itsananomaly)	Cutter stared helplessly at all the bedding that was around them, "isn't it meant to be like really fancy?" he had no idea either, "and I heard something about 1000 supposed to be a good number to go with," did the thread count go any higher than 1000 he had no idea. Yes somewhere Lester wanted to face palm right now.
Connor(anomaly_research_nerd)	"Alright... so any preference on color or anything?" Connor asked still looking around somewhat bewildered by all the options. Whatever happened to just a simple set of blue sheets?
Cutter(itsananomaly)	"I'm not too sure," Cutter admitted, "maybe something simple like beige or brown would go with the rest of the house?" he considered with a tilt of his head.
Connor(anomaly_research_nerd)	”Sounds good. And we could add some color in with the pillows and whatnot" Connor suggested as got out the bed sheet pack into their cart. Um… going to grab a blue set for Fandom too."
Cutter(itsananomaly)	Cutter smiled at that, "that sounds like a great idea," he considered the different options that they had, "maybe we could get a red or a white colour for the pillows and the blue set for Fandom sounds really nice,"
Connor(anomaly_research_nerd)	"Well the set comes with one pillowcase. So how about we get two red ones to go with that? One for each of us and we can wrestle for the third one?" he said with a playful gleam in his eyes. .
Cutter(itsananomaly)	Cutter started to go rather red at that, almost as red as the pillow case, "I do like the sound of that," he grinned shyly.
Connor(anomaly_research_nerd)	"Perfect, so on to the quilt or blanket we want" Connor said pretending not to notice the reaction but giving Cutter a gentle shoulder nudge all the same. "Think a regular light-weight blanket for warmer months then a heavy quilt for when it's cold? Should we get both for the house and the Fandom flat? Both get pretty much the same temperatures and all...."
Cutter(itsananomaly)	Cutter ducked his head slightly and rubbed the back of his neck at that should nudge as he considered their options, "it probably wouldn't hurt to get one each for the house and the flat and ..." he considered, "maybe we should get a new blanket for Rex, hopefully we can avoid him trying to claim the new blankets and quilt for himself?" He knew it wouldn't last long but it was worth a try.
Connor(anomaly_research_nerd)	"That's what I was thinking. These tan blankets should work nice, there some streaks of red and white mixed in so they should go with the sheets and pillows nicely. What do you want for the quilts?"
Cutter(itsananomaly)	"Oh those will be nice," Cutter smiled, "maybe we could get something like a goose down quilt?" he suggested, "they look like they could be quite warm for the winter,"
Connor(anomaly_research_nerd)	"Oh yes perfect! You pick out the quilts and I am gonna find a nice fleece blanket for Rex. He really seems to like the super fuzzy blankets." Connor walked a little further down the aisle to look for Rex's blanket. There were a lot of choices for those as well! .
Cutter(itsananomaly)	Cutter smiled as he looked over the quilts before he ended up choosing a brown quilt for the house and then keeping with the theme for the flat he ended up picking out a nice dark blue quilt for Fandom. He was feeling quite pleased with his choices and he went over to see how Connor was doing, "have you found a blanket for Rex yet?" he asked as he looked at the choices that were available.
Connor(anomaly_research_nerd)	"I think so. I tried to be practical about it but then I saw this one" he said pointing to one that had a fun kid-print of dinosaurs on it. "I don't think I am going to be able to say no to that one for Rex" he admitted as he looked at Cutter with a grin.
Cutter(itsananomaly)	Cutter smiled when he saw it, "oh Rex will love that," he said, "I mean he's probably going to love our other blankets and quilts too but he will definitely love the dinosaurs on it,"
Connor(anomaly_research_nerd)	Connor smiled and nodded as he grabbed it off the shelf and added it to their cart. He took a moment to look at the quilts Cutter had chosen. "Those look like they are gonna be great to curl up under when the weather gets cold again! Good choices there Nick."
Cutter(itsananomaly)	Cutter smiled, "thank you, I think we've been making really good choices with our selections," he looked around the store and then back at the cart, "what do you think we should look at next?"
Connor(anomaly_research_nerd)	Connor looked around for a moment. "Maybe the bathroom stuff? Grab some towels and then head to the kitchen area and see what we want to get?" he finally decided. "Shouldn't take long to get the towels. Want me to go grab a couple of sets for us and meet you over at kitchenware?" .
Cutter(itsananomaly)	"I think that sounds like an excellent plan," Cutter smiled, "alright if you want you can go to the towels and I'll start looking over the kitchenware sets,"
Connor(anomaly_research_nerd)	Connor nodded and headed off while Cutter made his way to the kitchen area. A few minutes later he returned with the towels. "Decided to go with a simple black set for both places. Figured we don't need to really change out much in the bathrooms and these will go with basically anything we do decide to do down the road possibly. Any luck over here?"
Cutter(itsananomaly)	"Black will work really well," Cutter nodded, "I was thinking we could get a couple of these dinner sets, replace some of the old plates at the house and we could get one for Fandom as well, that way we do have some options if we have people over,"
Connor(anomaly_research_nerd)	Connor thought about that and then gave a small laugh. "Yeah we probably should have something more than paper plates and plastic cutlery for visitors" he admitted. "The six or eight serving ones should be plenty. I can't see us having more than four or six people over for dinner. Anything bigger would need to be at the ARC anyways cuz of space!"
Cutter(itsananomaly)	Cutter smiled at that, "that's what I was thinking, I don't think we'll be doing that much entertaining but it wouldn't hurt to have the extra plates and cutlery, maybe we can get some more coffee cups and desert bowls as well," he added.
Connor(anomaly_research_nerd)	"And some wine glasses too!" Connor added with a grin. "I think we could also update as few of the kitchen gadgets. I don't know about you, but I'd love to have a nice coffee and cappuccino maker for the kitchen at the house." .
Cutter(itsananomaly)	"Oh new wine glasses are definitely a must," Cutter grinned, "and I think a coffee and cappuccino maker will be lovely for the house, I've never had one there before," he added.
Connor(anomaly_research_nerd)	"Figured it would save us from over-priced London coffee" Connor reasoned. "And we have the Perk back in Fandom so that is a good option if we want something more than a pot of quick coffee one morning! And I think we can wait on the other appliances... the toaster and can opener and what not are all still pretty good. We can update those later if we want." See Lester, he was TRYING to be good with their spending this time!
Cutter(itsananomaly)	Cutter grinned, "that's true and I don't think the toaster and things will need updating, they're still pretty good since they haven't been used that much, I think getting the coffee and cappuccino maker will definitely be our priority,"
Connor(anomaly_research_nerd)	"Alright I got the wineglass set" Connor said, carefully putting the box into the cart. How about you pick out the coffee and cappuccino maker for us?"
Cutter(itsananomaly)	Cutter smiled as he returned the hug, “I can’t wait to set everything up and use it either, it’s going to be perfect,”
Connor(anomaly_research_nerd)	It really felt good, making plans and thinking about the future like this. Connor took a moment to appreciate this moment and to enjoy something so mundane and simple yet so wonderful as shopping with his fiance. "It's nice to be getting things for our place... our things... our home" he said with a broad grin. .
Cutter(itsananomaly)	Cutter smiled at that, “aye it’s nice being able to build these happy memories and setting up our own place, I can’t wait for everything to be set up,” he said happily.
Connor(anomaly_research_nerd)	"Lazy days staying in bed, early morning coffee on the balcony, the occasional home cooked meal when we feel adventurous, plenty of late night movie cuddles on the couch... it all sounds amazing" Connor sighed, unable to keep the grin off of his face.
Cutter(itsananomaly)	Cutter smiled happily at that as he pictured it all, "it really does doesn't it?" he said, "I can't wait to share all of that with you,"
Connor(anomaly_research_nerd)	It was really taking a lot of effort to not just kiss Cutter right then and there, but Connor was trying to be good. "So...." he said clearing his throat a little. "What else do we still need to get? I think we might be done here... want to go start on updating that book collection now? We can leave these things at the font and have them delivered to the house thanks to Lester's help."
Cutter(itsananomaly)	Cutter smiled at that, "I think this is a good place to start, I think if we need anything else we can come back later and ..." he added, "I do like the sound of starting to work on our book collection,"
Connor(anomaly_research_nerd)	"Aye! Cant let Lester shoulder all the expenses after all. And that bookstore down the way does seem like it has some really interesting books in it the last time I popped in for a few minutes." .
Cutter(itsananomaly)	"Then I think that's an excellent place for us to start looking," Cutter grinned at that, "I'm looking forward to seeing what titles we can add to our collection,"
Connor(anomaly_research_nerd)	"Some new reference books and getting your fiction collection started. Sounds good to me. Maybe they will even have the few books I still need for my Space Battles collection!" Connor said with a hopeful grin.
Cutter(itsananomaly)	Cutter smiled, "I'm looking forward to it," he said, "I honestly don't even know where to begin with what fiction books to add," he admitted, "I've only really read reference and research books,"
Connor(anomaly_research_nerd)	"Well maybe something with dinosaurs would be a good starting point?" Connor considered as they dropped off their order and made their way down the street towards the bookstore. "I really like the meta for Jurassic Park books, I haven't owned them since I was rooming with Duncan and Tom, but they should be pretty easy to find. I think you might like them!"
Cutter(itsananomaly)	"I do enjoy the movies," Cutter added, "I've never read the books though, I think that would be one series to keep a look out for," he decided.
Connor(anomaly_research_nerd)	"We can find some small single books, let you find the genre you like or find an author you particularly enjoy and then we can start building a collection based off that" Connor said as they walked into the bookstore. "I like the science fiction and fantasy genres but there are some mystery and drama books I have enjoyed as well." .
Cutter(itsananomaly)	"I didn't mind some of the classics that I read in school," Cutter admitted, "I wouldn't mind rereading those, like the meta forOdyssey and the Iliad, maybe something along those lines as well?"
Connor(anomaly_research_nerd)	"Ah yes the classics. Can definitely get some of them!" Connor opened the door and let Cutter walk in and followed after. The shop wasn't overly large but it was backed from floor to ceiling with books and rows of bookshelves. They were sure to find at least a few books they both could add to their collection!
Cutter(itsananomaly)	Cutter's eyes were wide as he looked around the store, "oh wow, its' been a while since I've been in a bookstore," he said as he looked around, "where do you want to start?"
Connor(anomaly_research_nerd)	"How about we go get the boring books out of the way? Grab some reference and research material to start with" Connor suggested. "then we can focus on all the fun books!"
Cutter(itsananomaly)	Cutter grinned, "that sounds like a good idea," his eyes scanned the bookstore, "I think the reference books are up the back of the store so we can start there," he suggested.
Connor(anomaly_research_nerd)	Connor nodded and took Cutter's hand and headed towards the back of the store. The shop was mostly empty so he hoped Cutter didn't mind the PDA as he lifted their hands and placed a quick kiss on the back of Cutter's hand. .
Cutter(itsananomaly)	Cutter smiled shyly at that, he didn't mind the PDA especially as they headed to the back of the store and were more hidden, his gaze went over the travel guides and reference books, "I think we should definitely pick up a few South Africa guide books for our trip," he considered.
Connor(anomaly_research_nerd)	The smile on Connor's face got even bigger if that was possible. "Thats what I was thinking too. We gotta get ready for the epic dig adventure and I'm sure Becker would appreciate us sending one to him too" Connor considered as he looked over a few of the books for South Africa. "This beginner's guide to history might be good to have. Maybe also if we can find one that focuses on the archeology/paleontology side of things?"
Cutter(itsananomaly)	"Oh that's a good idea," Cutter said as he looked over the books, "here's one that looks promising, fossils of South Africa, I think this could be useful for us and we can get a copy for Becker?"
Connor(anomaly_research_nerd)	"Jackpot! That will be perfect" These will be a great place to start as we get ready for the dig!" Connor picked up the books with a nod.
Cutter(itsananomaly)	"Absolutely," Cutter grinned, "and we can get one of those lonely planet guide books as well for us to go to other sites away from the dig, especially if we have a few days afterwards to explore after the dig,"
Connor(anomaly_research_nerd)	"Oh definitely! We're gonna have to make sure there's at least a few days before and after the dig trip itself so we can see things and be all touristy!" Connor said with a laugh. "This is a once-in-a-lifetime trip and I want to be able to enjoy as much as I can with you while we are there!" .
Cutter(itsananomaly)	Cutter smiled, "and I want to spend as much time as I can exploring South Africa with you, its been a while since I was last there and I'm looking forward to exploring the sites and of course the dig itself," he said happily as he looked through the guide book.
Connor(anomaly_research_nerd)	"I still can hardly believe I am going to be going on my first dig... to South Africa... with my amazing fiance... and Becker too" Connor said with a grin that was impossible to keep hidden. "It is going to be such an amazing trip!"
Cutter(itsananomaly)	Cutter smiled at that, "its going to be an amazing trip and I'm looking forward to experiencing with my amazing fiancé and Becker," he said happily, "and there's plenty of other amazing dig sites that we can go to as well, I would like to take you on a trip to Australia on a dig one time,"
Connor(anomaly_research_nerd)	"OH you might have to kidnap me and shove me in your suitcase for that one" Connor said, totally sarcastically as he grinned. "That does sound amazing though. Teaching classes then going on digs during the summer term. Could be a really good way to balance it all out!"
Cutter(itsananomaly)	"Oh that sounds perfect," Cutter grinned, "and it will be a good way for you to build up some experience as well, the universities will love that if you've been part of digs, if you eventually want to teach at university level" he added with a smile as he imagined his life with Connor.
Connor(anomaly_research_nerd)	"I'd like that eventually, at least teaching a university level class now and then. I know that will be a few years out at least, need the experience and all for sure... but it is something I'd like to shoot for eventually" Connor said as he thought about all the possibilities that could be out there for him and Cutter as they started their life together. .
Cutter(itsananomaly)	"Aye you will be Professor Connor Temple," Cutter said confidently, "and while you do maybe I'll write another paper or a series of papers and get them published, even though I may have to do it under pseudonym since my reputation is shot right now," he sighed at that.
Connor(anomaly_research_nerd)	Connor gave Cutter a gentle hug at that. "I think that sounds like a good idea. Depending on what we end up doing and what digs we go on, we could even write a paper together, but with pseudonyms. Be our little secret project and all!"
Cutter(itsananomaly)	Cutter gratefully returned the hug, "I do like the sound of that, it would be fun co-authoring our own paper under pseudonyms," he said, feeling a lot more confident about the idea.
Connor(anomaly_research_nerd)	"Just one of many things we have to look forward to doing together," Connor said as he gave Cutter a reassuring squeeze. "And I think these books are a great start for our research and reference collection. Want to see about grabbing a couple of fun reading books then we can enjoy some lunch before heading back home?"
Cutter(itsananomaly)	Cutter smiled, "we did pick quite a few good books for that, all nice and updated too," he added, feeling better after that reassuring squeeze, "and I think that sounds like a great plan, start building our own collection of books, we can start in the science fiction and fantasy section,"
Connor(anomaly_research_nerd)	"My favorite section of any bookstore!" Connor grinned as they started towards that area. "I got quite a few books I can move over from the flat in Fandom so I think we should focus on finding a few books that you think might be interesting and getting the start of your collection going" he said with an encouraging smile. .
Cutter(itsananomaly)	Cutter grinned at that, "well I think we can start with the meta for Jurassic Park books," he decided, "I think those would be good to have at the house, "what about meta forLord of the Rings?" Cutter was one of those few people who had managed to not read the books or watch the movies.
Connor(anomaly_research_nerd)	"Both are great options! And I have the movies for both too so you can read the books then watch the movies... again for meta for Jurassic Park, but they are definitely worth a rewatch or two or five!" And yes he had watched them all at least that many times!
Cutter(itsananomaly)	"I've only seen the movies for meta for Jurassic Park," Cutter admitted, "and I've never seen meta for Lord of the Rings either,"
Connor(anomaly_research_nerd)	"Well, we will definitely fix that!" Connor laughed. "Can't have my fiance missing out on the classics after all!"
Cutter(itsananomaly)	Cutter smiled at that, “I’m looking forward to it, we can have a movie night of it,”
Connor(anomaly_research_nerd)	"Oh will be several nights, just for meta for Lord of the Rings because we are gonna do it right and watch the extended version!" Because yes Connor was THAT kind of fan when it came to those books and movies. .
Cutter(itsananomaly)	“There’s different versions?” Cutter really had no idea about the differences between the theatrical or extended.
Connor(anomaly_research_nerd)	Connor just kinda gawked at Cutter for a moment there. "Are there different versions? Oh Nick, Nick, Nick..." he said as he put a hand on his shoulder. "The wonderous extended editions have like an hour or more of deleted scenes per movie! Plus hours of behind the scenes, interviews, filming cuts, and other goodies!" Connor was geeking out a little. Could you tell?
Cutter(itsananomaly)	Cutter blinked a little, “an extended edition can have all of that?” he said slightly in awe but he couldn’t help but smile at Connor geeking out.
Connor(anomaly_research_nerd)	"Aye! Theres a lot of good stuff that had to get cut. Watching the extended versions is amazing!" Connor smiled, already feeling excited about movie nights.
Cutter(itsananomaly)	Cutter smiled,”then we’ll make several movie nights out of it and make some popcorn and everything, I’m looking forward to it,” he said.
Connor(anomaly_research_nerd)	Connor really liked the idea of that and smiled as he started searching the shelves to see if he could find either of those collections for Cutter. .
Cutter(itsananomaly)	Cutter smiled at that as he started to search through the science fiction and fantasy section, eventually he came to the Ts and began to search through the books and finally found meta for Fellowship of the Ring, "oh it looks like they have the entire trilogy in stock," he said excitedly.
Connor(anomaly_research_nerd)	"Brilliant! We are definitely getting that at the very least" Connor said as he kept searching the shelves to see if there was anything else he thought might interest Cutter.
Cutter(itsananomaly)	Cutter smiled as he picked up those books and then he noticed there were a few other books by the author as well, "do you think I should also get meta for the Hobbit and the Silmarillion?" he said curiously as he looked at them on the shelf.
Connor(anomaly_research_nerd)	"I mean I love all his stuff. meta for The Hobbit is great- It is more a kids story but really fun and a good book. meta for The Silmarillion is good but can be a bit heavy to get through. I liked it though and we can read it together if you'd like since I already know the story and can explain anything that might be a little confusing to you as someone new to the stories" Connor offered.
Cutter(itsananomaly)	Cutter smiled at that, "I would really love that," he said, "maybe after I read meta for the Fellowship of the Ring first we can try reading meta for the Silmarillion after?"
Connor(anomaly_research_nerd)	"Can even read meta for The Hobbit before as well. meta for Silmarillion is kind alike a history of the world and the races in the book. So having a basic understanding of it going in is a good idea." Connor grinned as he looked at the book, the fond memories of the past and dreams of their future making him smile broadly. “But I love the idea of reading with you- I think that sounds like a very fun way to spend an afternoon now and then." .
Cutter(itsananomaly)	Cutter smiled at that, "well then I think I'll start with the meta for Hobbit," he said fondly at Connor, "and I really love the idea of spending the afternoon reading with you, that would be a very nice routine to get into," he added.
Connor(anomaly_research_nerd)	"Aye, perfect way to spend a weekend afternoon or an evening here and there during the week, after classes or whatever, just enjoying reading together." Connor smiled fondly back, "I can't wait to be able to do it all with you Nick."
Cutter(itsananomaly)	Cutter smiled at that, "I can't wait to do it all with you either Connor," he said fondly as he imagined their life together, "it will be perfect,"
Connor(anomaly_research_nerd)	"And I think we should kick it all off tonight. We got sheets and blankets to try out and books to enjoy" Connor said with a smirk.
Cutter(itsananomaly)	Cutter smiled at that, as he went rather red, "now that sounds like a plan," he said, "I'm looking forward to it," he added shyly.
Connor(anomaly_research_nerd)	"Well then I think we should finish up here so we can get to that very important item on the to-do list before we have to head back to the ARC." Was there a flush on Connors's face as well? Yes, yes there was and he was fine with that. .
Cutter(itsananomaly)	Cutter leaned against Connor as they got their books paid for, "where do you think we should have lunch?" he asked as they collected their bags of books.
Connor(anomaly_research_nerd)	"How about that cafe we passed on the way up? We can get something nice and light for lunch then we can enjoy the rest of the evening together" Connor said as they headed out with their books, slipping his free hand into Cutter's as they went.
Cutter(itsananomaly)	"That sounds perfect," Cutter smiled as he gave Connor's hand a gentle squeeze, "that sounds like a wonderful way to end the day, I'm glad we got to do this,"
Connor(anomaly_research_nerd)	"Same, perfect way to kick off the start of our new life, our future, together!" Connor leaned over and kissed Cutter's cheek, not caring that they were out in public. He was too happy and excited about everything to try and hide it just then. "Love you, Nick... so very very much!"
Cutter(itsananomaly)	Cutter smiled at that kiss, feeling his cheeks go red but he didn't mind the PDA at all, "I love you too Connor," he said happily, "so very much,"
Connor(anomaly_research_nerd)	"It's going to be an amazing day, I just know it" Connor said with a broad happy smile as he walked with Cutter towards the cafe. He was really looking forward to lunch and then a wonderful evening together! .
Cutter(itsananomaly)	It had been a wonderful day shopping for the house and being out with Connor and now it was the evening and he was looking forward to spending it reading with Connor. "I'm really looking forward to doing this," he smiled, "its been too long since I last read anything that wasn't for research or class,"
Connor(anomaly_research_nerd)	Connor couldn’t keep the grin off his face as he finished putting the new sheets on the bed and got the blankets and pillows ready. "That makes two of us! After all the studying I'm ready for some fun reading for a change!" He was also looking forward to everything else that was likely going to come along with that too, of course.
Cutter(itsananomaly)	"It will be nice to be able to set up a routine like this, get in some reading done especially if we've had a busy day," Cutter smiled as he got the Hobbit out for them to read. "And I think tonight 's the perfect way to start off this new routine,"
Connor(anomaly_research_nerd)	"Agree, can’t think of many ways to relax and unwind that are better than this." Connor gave a grin as he fixed up the blankets on the bed, making sure Rex's was all laid out on the couch already. "There, bed's all ready. Only thing missing on it is us!" .
Cutter(itsananomaly)	"Well I think we should correct that," Cutter grinned, "and we can get comfortable and try out a new sheets and pillows,"
Connor(anomaly_research_nerd)	"I'll go get our pyjamas!" Connor said excitedly as he went to the dresser to pull out their night clothes. "Cuz I don't know about you but aside from a snack later on before bed, I don't really plan on moving from the bed much."
Cutter(itsananomaly)	"That was my thinking as well," Cutter smiled, going slightly red as he thought about how else they could spend their evening after they were done reading, "I think its the perfect way to wind down for the night,"
Connor(anomaly_research_nerd)	Connor wasn't wasting any time and was already getting into the pyjamas. "Perfect ending to a perfect day if you ask me" he said as he stepped into the pant bottoms and pulled them up. A few minutes later he was already crawling onto the bed and getting situated. He grinned at Cutter and patted the space beside him.
Cutter(itsananomaly)	Cutter smiled fondly at that as he changed into his own pyjamas and then a few minutes later he was curling up next to Connor with the book ready to go, "definitely a perfect day, I'm glad we did that, went shopping for the house, went book shopping, got some great books for our dig and now we get to relax after a busy day,"
Connor(anomaly_research_nerd)	"Sounds like heaven on earth really, a relaxing evening with my amazing fiance" A smile spread over Connor's face at that. He liked being able to call Cutter that. As Cutter climbed into the bed he shifted closer and laid his head against Cutter's shoulder as he got the book ready. Connor had already decided he would let Cutter set the pace for the reading, since he had already read the book several times himself. "Remember, feel free to ask me anything that might be confusing if you want. I love talking about meta for The Hobbit and Lord of the Rings." You just stood the risk of an hour-long rabbit trail rant if you did! .
Cutter(itsananomaly)	Cutter smiled at hearing Connor call him his fiancé, he did enjoy hearing that, "and I'm looking forward to spend a relaxing evening with my amazing fiancé," his smile widened at that, "and I will, I'm probably going to need you to explain things to me, I know I'm probably going to get lost with the different places and characters," he admitted.
Connor(anomaly_research_nerd)	"No worries, consider me your personal dictionary to all things related to these books and movies!" Connor grinned. He slipped an arm around Cutter's back and leaned over and kissed the side of his neck softly as they got comfortable.
Cutter(itsananomaly)	Cutter smiled at that kiss and then leaned against Connor as they got comfortable, "I'm looking forward to it," he said once they were comfortable and he got out the book for them to read.
Connor(anomaly_research_nerd)	With his arms wrapped around Cutter, head resting against his shoulder Connor gave a contented sigh as they started to read. It really was quite nice and he took a moment to just appreciate how simple and amazing it was to be doing this together.
Cutter(itsananomaly)	Cutter smiled and he leaned against Connor and he started to read, it felt so nice being able to do this with his fiancé and it was nice being able to read for fun. He could definitely get used to this.
Connor(anomaly_research_nerd)	A few pages in Connor smiled. "I always thought that would be an amazing place to live" he said with a nod to the pages. "All the green, the gardens, the peace and quiet. I think it would be a wonderful place to call home." .
Cutter(itsananomaly)	"It does sound like a wonderful place," Cutter agreed as he pictured it, "it sounds very relaxing, it would be nice to have a place like that to live in,"
Connor(anomaly_research_nerd)	Connor smiled and laid his head against Cutter's chest and snuggled closer. As Cutter read Connor found himself imagining what it would be like to live someplace like that, with the man he loved. And soon he felt himself relax enough that he was almost drifting off, the sound of Cutter's steady heartbeat and breathing nearly lulling him to sleep.
Cutter(itsananomaly)	Cutter snuggled in close to Connor, feeling himself start to get drowsy as he read on, it had been a busy day and now that he was here, comfortable in the bed with Connor, he found himself yawning a couple of times.
Connor(anomaly_research_nerd)	"Love you Nick... so much..." Connor said sleepily as he kept his arms wrapped around Cutter. "Thank you. For making this all possible. For asking me to marry you. I've been happier than I am right now, here with you."
Cutter(itsananomaly)	"And I love you Connor, so very much," Cutter said as he leaned in Connor's arms, "thank you for saying yes, you make me so very happy Connor, I'm glad that we can spend the rest of our lives together,"
Connor(anomaly_research_nerd)	"Best decision I ever made" Connor said with a smile. "Looking forward to many more nights together like this." .
Cutter(itsananomaly)	Cutter smiled fondly at that, "I'm looking forward to nights like this as well and getting to build our future together," he said happily.
Connor(anomaly_research_nerd)	"A future with you is more than I could have ever hoped for" Connor said as he leaned up and kissed Cutter softly. "I can't wait to see what the future holds for us" he said excitedly as he kissed him again softly
Cutter(itsananomaly)	Cutter happily returned that kiss, "I can't wait to see what our future has for us either," he said as he leaned in close to Connor, "its going to be an amazing journey and I'm looking forward to spending it with you,"
Connor(anomaly_research_nerd)	Connor gave a happy sigh as he kept the kiss going, his hand sliding down Cutter's back along the soft pyjamas and then back up, fingers tracking along the nape of his neck. This was definitely something he could get used to doing a lot more often.
Cutter(itsananomaly)	Cutter was definitely happy to keep that kissing going, moaning at the feel of Connor's hand going up and down his back, this was a really nice feeling and he was glad he got to share it with Connor, once Cutter had put the book down on the nightstand, he wrapped his arms around Connor as he kept that kiss going as long as was possible.
Connor(anomaly_research_nerd)	There would be plenty of other nights for reading. Cuddling and kissing were also very important! Connor grinned into the kiss and pulled Cutter closer, keeping one hand on his back and the other sliding up to the back of his head as the kiss continued. He had never felt this way before and Connor knew all he wanted was to spend the rest of his life with Cutter. .
Cutter(itsananomaly)	Yes cuddling and kissing were very important and Cutter was very happy to keep that kiss going, Cutter leaned into that touch as one of his hands began to slide up and down Connor's back, all the while keeping that kiss going. He was very happy and he couldn't wait to be build his future with Connor.
Connor(anomaly_research_nerd)	If the start so far was any indication it was going to be an absolutely amazing future to be sure. Connor moaned softly into he kiss before pulling back to catch his breath. "I love you Nick. So very much." Connor grinned and then pulled the blanket up over their heads, a small chuckle escaping as he did.
Cutter(itsananomaly)	"I love you too Connor," Cutter smiled as he snuggled in closer as Connor pulled the blanket up, "more than anything in the world, I love you,"
Cutter(itsananomaly)	Their week off was getting closer to the end and they were due back at the ARC and Fandom in a few days but they had a very important task to do before then and they had packages arrive from IKEA, which was going to be their new bookshelves and a new table they had ordered. The packages were in the living room, "so how do you want to tackle this?" he asked Connor, it had been a very long time since he'd had to put any furniture together.
Connor(anomaly_research_nerd)	Connor looked at the boxes in the living room and considered the space they might need. "Well.... we could start with the table and then use that to help with getting the shelves together if we need more space for bits and pieces as we work... Course how many parts could there be to a table and some bookshelves right?"
Cutter(itsananomaly)	"Right, I mean there'll be instructions, it shouldn't be too hard to follow," Cutter considered. Those were very famous last words Cutter. "Okay, so we'll start with the table and then the bookcases," he agreed as he went to move the bookcase packages away so that they would have more space.
Connor(anomaly_research_nerd)	Connor nodded and started moving the larger box into the middle of the room. He sat down beside it and gave Cutter a grin. "Alright, here goes!" he said as he started to open the box.... and began pulling out bag after bag after bag of parts and screws and pieces. .
Cutter(itsananomaly)	"Oh wow there are a lot of different parts to this," Cutter blinked as it seemed like it was never going to end, he saw the instructions on the to and picked it up and unfolded it, "this might take as a bit longer than I thought," he admitted as he saw how long that piece of paper was.
Connor(anomaly_research_nerd)	"All of this? For a table?" Connor said when finally pulled out the last bit and looked at the spread on the floor. "It has a top and four legs! What even is all of this...." he picked up one of the bags and read the table printed on it. "Part A-4.20 Right...." he blinked as he looked up at Cutter.
Cutter(itsananomaly)	Cutter blinked, "Part A?" he repeated, "just how many parts is there to this thing? Do you think we should call Becker or Danny for help?"
Connor(anomaly_research_nerd)	"Well... quite a few parts from the look of it" Connor said as he glanced around at the bags of parts that he swore had multiplied since he took them out of the box. "And we can do it... we don't need to call Becker or Danny. Let's just start and see how it goes..." They were so going to have to call for help at some point!
Cutter(itsananomaly)	Cutter looked around at quite the jumble of parts that were spread around them, "I mean, there's two of us right? Surely between the two of us we can figure this out," It was definitely not going to be that simple.
Connor(anomaly_research_nerd)	"Right so... hand me those parts there" he said pointing to a bag near Cutter's feet. "And it looks like these go with them.... oh pegs to hold the pieces together. Alright then...." Was he already getting a little confused and overwhelmed?yes not at all! .
Cutter(itsananomaly)	It was totally going to be fine. "Okay, right," Cutter picked up the parts and handed them to Connor, "what else would you like me to do?" he asked as he looked around them, there was a lot more to putting a table together than he thought.
Connor(anomaly_research_nerd)	"Well, these look like they are part of the legs... so maybe find out what parts we need to attach them to the table?" Connor suggested as she tried to figure out how the legs went together. "Ok... ummm.. this doesn't make sense.... They say to put peg 3A into the holes on the legs marked 3B.... but these are square pegs and round holes!"
Cutter(itsananomaly)	Cutter looked at the different parts, "surely there'd be round pegs as well?" he said, "maybe they got the instructions wrong or maybe we need a specific drill to make them fit?" This was definitely going to end badly.
Connor(anomaly_research_nerd)	"Well, we don't have a drill I don't think....Maybe it is the wrong piece and we don't need them?" Connor looked at the instructions again. "Or maybe we just have to really force it in so it fits snug?" They were so going to need some help with this!
Cutter(itsananomaly)	"I'm sure Becker or Danny have a drill we could borrow, or we could go out and buy one?" Cutter suggested, "but maybe we can try and see how it goes forcing it in first?" he considered, "I mean it wouldn't hurt to try right?"
Connor(anomaly_research_nerd)	"Ok well let's seeeeee... it can go like this... and...." Connor pushed one of the pegs in and then looked at the other part of the leg for the table. "I'm not sure that is right either cuz now it won't fit in this hole here..." he sighed as he shook his head. "Ok maybe we should call Becker..." he said sheepishly. .
Cutter(itsananomaly)	Cutter’s mind was swimming as he tried to focus on the the different instructions and what part went there, “I’ll give Becker a call,” he said and got out his phone, pressing his number and hopefully Becker was not busy right then.
Connor(anomaly_research_nerd)	Connor waited expectantly as Cutter called. He really hoped Becker would be around and able to talk. after a couple fo rings he heard Becker's voice on the other end. "Cutter. Hey good to hear from you" Becker said. "Everything alright over there with you and Connor?"
Cutter(itsananomaly)	"Hey Becker, I've got you on speaker," Cutter said as he held the phone so Connor could hear, "uh, we've got a bit of a problem here actually, Connor and I are trying to put together some IKEA furniture and its ... well a bit more complicated than we realised," he admitted.
Connor(anomaly_research_nerd)	There was a moment of silence and Connor thought he could hear Becker mutter something under his breath. "IKEA? You guys are actually attempting to put together something from IKEA? You are braver than I am!" Becker said with a small chuckle "So what exactly are you trying to put together?"
Cutter(itsananomaly)	"Well we're trying to put together a table but we also have some bookcases to put together," Cutter admitted, "I didn't think there this was this much to putting together a table," he said sheepishly, "but the instructions say to put the square pegs in the hole but they're round, we can't figure that out,"
Connor(anomaly_research_nerd)	"We were wondering if we needed to make our own holes or if they maybe where the wrong piece" Connor said looking at Cutter as he did. "Ok so.... first things first.... make SURE they are the two pieces that are supposed to go together," Becker said. "Make sure like you have Part B2-4 and not Part B4-2 or something like that." .
Cutter(itsananomaly)	"Uh ..." Cutter looked at all the little bags that they had, "there's so many different parts here," he said as he tried to see which ones looked like they matched the holes, "oh this one here looks promising, this looks round...ish," he said as he held it up to Connor.
Connor(anomaly_research_nerd)	"Let's give it a try" Connor said as he took the bag. "They look like they should work so...." he took one and tried to get it in place. "Ah-ha! There, that looks a lot better!"
Cutter(itsananomaly)	"It looks like its working Becker," Cutter told him as he watched Connor put in the pegs, "is there any other tidbits of information you have that will help us?" He figured it wouldn't hurt asking Becker while they had him on the phone right?
Connor(anomaly_research_nerd)	Connor worked on the other three legs of the table while he listened to Cutter and Becker talk. "Other than avoid IKEA next time..." Becker said with a small laugh. "Double and triple check the part numbers, they can get a little confusing." (Understatement there Becker). "And you may end up with a few leftover screws... they usually have a couple extras in case something gets lost in the shuffle."
Cutter(itsananomaly)	"Okay I think we should manage that," Cutter smiled, "and we'll definitely avoid IKEA next time," he promised, "so basically we just need to triple check that those numbers match up to the parts right?"
Connor(anomaly_research_nerd)	"Still say we could just hammer it all together" Connor said shaking his head. "Well, that is an option" Becker acknowledged. "But let's try to keep that to a last resort ok?" he chuckled. "And yeah just keep track of the parts. The hardest part for me was always figuring out what was what. Leave it to IKEA to be able to turn something that should be like five pieces into a bloody jigsaw puzzle!" .
Cutter(itsananomaly)	Cutter grinned at that as he began to sort through the remaining parts, "well I know it wasn't this complicated the last time I had to put furniture together, I had no idea it was so complicated now,” he admitted.
Connor(anomaly_research_nerd)	"Thanks for the help Becker, appreciate it!" Connor said from where he was sitting on the floor, two of the four legs finally starting to come together.
Cutter(itsananomaly)	"It was a massive help thank you," Cutter told him, "its actually starting to come together now, thank you for the advice,"
Connor(anomaly_research_nerd)	"Anytime. Will have to show it off to me next time I come over,“ Becker said with a laugh. "Good luck with the rest of the furniture! I gotta go though, Danny is insisting on running some security checks around here and you know well those went last time... You two take care and we will talk soon!" "Thanks again Becker" Connor said with a grin remembering all too well the times Danny staged a 'break-in' to test the ARC security setup. "Give Danny and the rest of the team our best and tell them we will see them soon!"
Cutter(itsananomaly)	"Thanks Becker, we'll talk soon," Cutter promised and after a few more minutes of conversation he hung up the phone, "well this looking a lot more like a table now," he said with a smile.
Connor(anomaly_research_nerd)	"Aye that it is" Connor said looking down at what he had put together so far. "And hopefully the bookshelves are easier than this! Anyway... looks like we need the three big pieces that connect to make the top of the table and then it's just a few more pegs and screws and we will have our table!" .
Cutter(itsananomaly)	"Well we should be alright now that we know what we're doing right?" Cutter said hopefully, "and that doesn't sound too bad, we may even be finished all of this by dinner time now," he added with a grin.
Connor(anomaly_research_nerd)	"Yeah should be fine.... So long as there are no other curve balls waiting for us" Connor said with a smirk.
Cutter(itsananomaly)	"Well hopefully the bookcases are a lot more straight forward than the table and we don't need to call Becker again," Cutter said with a grin, "even though maybe we should change it up and call Danny instead if we need further help,"
Connor(anomaly_research_nerd)	"Sounds like a plan" Connor said as he and Cutter got the top of the table put together. "Could you hand me that table leg over there? I think we just about got this table finished off!"
Cutter(itsananomaly)	"Of course," Cutter said as he got the table leg for Connor and handed it over to him, "here you go," he said as he held it out, "after a somewhat rocky start, its come together nicely, even looks like the picture," he said with a grin.
Connor(anomaly_research_nerd)	"Aye, it does look really nice doesn't it?" Connor said as he got the last table leg attached and the table turned upright. "There, our new table, all ready to go!" .
Cutter(itsananomaly)	Cutter smiled as he took in the table, "one IKEA piece of furniture done, another two to go," he said as he looked over at the other two bookcases, "did you want to have a quick break first? Maybe a cup of tea before we start on the bookcases?"
Connor(anomaly_research_nerd)	"Tea sounds amazing" Connor said, eyes lighting up a little. "And I think there are some biscuits in the tin still.. We could have those as well!" They really did deserve a break after wrestling with that beast of a table!
Cutter(itsananomaly)	It was definitely a well deserved break. "That sounds perfect," Cutter smiled, "I'll go and get the tea ready for us," he told Connor as he headed into the kitchen.
Connor(anomaly_research_nerd)	Connor got up off the floor and followed, heading to the pantry to retire the tin off the top shelf. He brought it to the table and also grabbed some small plates for them as well. "Ya know I had almost forgotten we had those in the pantry still!" he said with a small laugh. That was quite the feat because biscuits usually didn't last long with him.
Cutter(itsananomaly)	"I think we've been so busy this past week that I forgot about them as well," Cutter smiled, "those biscuits did well to last us as long as they did didn't they?" he said as he filled the kettle and started boiling it, he got out a couple of mugs as well and the teabags.
Connor(anomaly_research_nerd)	"I definitely think we need to start getting them delivered more regularly. They are convenient to have around and are great for little treats like this" Connor said with a smile as he leaned against the counter and watched Cutter. .
Cutter(itsananomaly)	Cutter smiled at that, "oh definitely, its nice to have little treats around, we should definitely do that when we're back in Fandom as well," he said as the kettle finally boiled and he finished making the cups of tea, he handed Connor his mug, "here you go one well deserved cup of tea,"
Connor(anomaly_research_nerd)	"Like the way you are thinking Nick" Connor nodded as he greatfully took the mug of tea. "Little bit of home for our second home" he added.
Cutter(itsananomaly)	Cutter smiled as he raised his mug of tea, "aye, it will be nice to have something familiar for us to look forward to after a busy day," he said, he looked back at the living room, "all things considered I think we've done very well so far with the furniture arranging,"
Connor(anomaly_research_nerd)	"It really is starting to look more and more like home" Connor said with a broad grin as he looked at the progress they had made. "Just another thing I am so glad I get to share with you Nick."
Cutter(itsananomaly)	Cutter smiled at that, "and I'm glad that I get to share this with you, working on getting to build a home for our future," he said, "I can't wait to see this place come together, to show that its ours,"
Connor(anomaly_research_nerd)	"Walls of books shelves, a nice entertainment system in the living room for movie nights, and of course the perfect bedroom getaway... I can't wait to see all of it come together either. But whatever it ends up being, it will be perfect because I get to have it and enjoy it all with you." Connor put down his tea and walked over and wrapped his arms around Cutter. "This is going to be an amazing home. Our home." .
Cutter(itsananomaly)	"It's going to be perfect," Cutter smiled as he put down his own cup of tea and leaned against Connor, "and I can't wait to see how this home becomes our own and I can't wait to share all of this with you, I'm glad that we can do this,"
Connor(anomaly_research_nerd)	"all I have ever wanted was to have a family... and now I have that. You are my family Nick" he said as he leaned his head against the crook of Cutter's neck and sighed contentedly. "I have everything I will ever want or need right here."
Cutter(itsananomaly)	Cutter leaned against Connor's head happily, "and you are my family Connor, you are my everything and I'm so happy that I get to marry you,"
Connor(anomaly_research_nerd)	"I don't think anything could make me happier than getting to marry you" Connor said, though for the briefest of moments he did think of one thing that would come very very close as he thought of Teddy and Tabby for a flash. He smiled and tightened his arms around Cutter. "Past doesn't matter... I am excited to see what the future holds for us!"
Cutter(itsananomaly)	"You're my everything," Cutter said as he leaned in closer around Connor, his own arms around Connor's waist, "my future, you're so important to me Connor, I can't wait live the rest of my life with you,"
Connor(anomaly_research_nerd)	Connor ran his hand up through Cutter's hair and pulled him closer and kissed him lovingly, deepening the kiss as he leaned back against the counter, pulling Cutter closer. Everything else faded away, all that mattered was him and Cutter. .
Cutter(itsananomaly)	Cutter happily returned that kiss, wrapping his arms tightly around Connor as he was pulled in closer, this was absolutely perfect and all he was focused on right then was being with Connor, nothing else mattered.
Connor(anomaly_research_nerd)	Connor had all but forgotten about the bookshelves still waiting to be put together. All he knew was how happy he was right then and that he wanted to remember every moment he could as he kissed Cutter and imagined what their future together would hold.
