Anomaly Research Centre - London

Lester had called a couple of days ago, saying that there had been a lot more anomaly activity and they needed all hands on deck, he had even - if somewhat reluctantly invited Connor to tag along to help them.

Since they were heading home, Cutter thought that this was a good opportunity to finally tell the team about him and Connor being together, they had already told Cutter’s Connor the news - which it turned out they’d had nothing to worry about, he was very firmly in love with Abby and had been very supportive of them being together.

The team had been supportive as well, even Stephen - Cutter knew there was a lot of history between them and he had been nervous about telling Stephen, not just because of everything that had happened with Helen but the times that he and Stephen had tried and failed to make it work between them before deciding to be really good friends instead.

Now that he’d told the team, he supposed now was as good a time as any to let them in on his discovery that there was a traitor amongst them - he’d called a meeting with both Connor’s, Abby and Stephen - he felt bad about not including Jenny in this but he didn’t know how far up it did go, from what he’d gathered from Connor it went fairly high up and he didn’t want to include her in this just yet.

He’d arranged for them to meet in the gym but he was waiting in his office first with Connor, mentally preparing himself to go and meet with them.

“What if they don’t believe me?” he looked worriedly over at Connor, “what if they … I don’t know, think I’m just paranoid or something?”

The M25 Motorway, London

Since Stephen had said that he would meet them at the anomaly site, Cutter had left with his Connor and Abby and drove them to the M25. There was already a huge swarm of press trying to get past the makeshift barrier that had been set up.

Cutter eventually drove them to the anomaly site.

It looked like Connor was having his hands full at keeping the press back and Cutter felt a little guilty at that.

Maybe he should have let Connor help them deal with the Mammoth.

“Hi, I’ve shut down the motorway,” Jenny told them rather breathlessly as she came up to their car, “at the next two junctions, just kept the camera crews out, shut down the mobile networks and there’s a no fly zone in place and the witnesses have been debriefed,”

Cutter just looked at her, “and you did all of that with your skirt tucked into your tights, well done,”

Jenny sighed, “I’m not going to look, Mammoth. Go.”

Still the M25 Motorway, London

Cutter stared blankly at Stephen, he spared one angry glance at Helen and then returned to ignoring her. The first thing that Cutter had felt was relief that Stephen was okay and then that relief quickly turned to anger when he saw that Stephen was with Helen, who was leaning casually against a car. “Where the hell have you been?” he yelled as he walked over to them, wincing a bit at the effort that took. Connor followed after Cutter, trying to get between him and Stephen because he really was worried Cutter would just walk up and strangle Stephen right then. "Nick," he said in a half whisper. "Easy now..." Connor managed to get a hand to Cutter's chest to stop him, his eyes darting between the two men. "Hello, Nick...Connor" Stephen said almost casually, though there was the faintest hint of relief in his eyes when Cutter finally stopped stalking towards him. "Sorry I was late." ( this wasn't going to end well )

Lester’s Office - the Anomaly Research Centre, London

Cutter was not aware of how much time had passed between getting off the motorway and heading back to the ARC since both him and Connor had ended up falling asleep on the trip back. As soon as they had arrived, he and Connor had received a summons to Lester’s office and he wondered why and then realised with a sinking feeling that Lester probably already knew what had happened. He didn’t have the energy for this, he just wanted to go home with Connor and not do anything ..he was emotionally and physically exhausted and he imagined that Connor felt the same but he also wasn’t in the mood to deal with an angry Lester, so reluctantly he and Connor headed to his office and Stephen was already there. Cutter trembled, if he wasn’t so exhausted he would have already taken a swing at him. “What are you doing here?” he spat instead. ( Lester was not impressed )

Cutter’s House, London

It had been a long morning, had it only been a few hours since he had told the team about his suspicions about there being a traitor? Since they had dealt with the Mammoth? Since the confrontation with Stephen and Helen? He sat down on his couch, sinking in and inviting Connor to join him, he was so tired and now that it had been a couple of hours since he had thrown everything up on the M25, he was hungry again. “I think we should order something in,” he said tiredly to Connor, “I think I could go for a big meal … Chinese or Italian maybe? What are you in the mood for?” They had a couple of days off now, they may as well put them to good use and ordering take out seemed like a good option and he was going to put it on Lester’s credit card because he could. ( It was time to talk about what happened )
