MHA #13 - Friday Morning

Cutter had woken up pretty early as he tended to most days, after spending months in the cretaceous being on early watches, it was still a schedule that was hard to shake so when he had gotten up and went to put the water in the kettle that morning he noticed that instead of water coming out of the tap it was pumpkin spice latte.

“Well this is different,” he said as Rex sat on the kitchen and tried to drink the liquid that was coming out to try it.

"That is... definitely new... not sure I remember that happening before?" Connor said as he peeked over his fiancee's shoulder and stared at the faucet. "Does it taste good at least?" he asked with a laugh.

"Well I suppose there's one way to find out right?" Cutter considered as he took a mug from the shelf and filled it up, Rex continued to try and drink from the tap as he did, "Rex seems to like it at least?" and then he took a sip from the mug, "it tastes pretty good," he nodded as he held out the mug for Connor to try, "I wonder if its all the taps in the flat?"

"Well, there's one way to find out," Connor said as he shook his head, watching Rex take a taste of the late. He grabbed a mug of his own and then headed to the bathroom and turned on the shower, He held the nug out udeer the 'water' and called out to Cutter. "Yup! Pumpkin Spice Latte in here too Nick! Good thing neither of us need a shower today!"

"I suppose that's another thing to thank the cretaceous for, after getting used to not having showers first thing in the morning," Cutter grinned as he took another sip of his latte, it actually was pretty tasty, "I wonder how long this is going to last?" he wondered.

Connor took a drink and nodded that it did taste good. "Well, the hot cocoa at Christmas lasted the entire day if I remember right so... probably at least that long?" He took another sip then grinned as he glanced back to the shower. "Wonder if the temperature of the latte can be changed hot or cold?"

"That's true, I suppose it would be the kind of thing to last for a day in Fandom," Cutter considered, "and I'm not sure," he admitted, "even though knowing Fandom it wouldn't surprise me if there could be different latte temperatures,"

"Well I mean there are iced lattes, maybe that's what the cold water is, and hot water is a hot latte for now?" He chuckled as he finished off the little but he had in his mug. It really was quite yummy! "So what do you think? Should we put the theory to the test and give it a try?"

"I mean it wouldn't hurt to try, knowing Fandom it could have a way to have both hot and cold lattes," Cutter grinned as he finished off his own mug and went to the tap to try it with cold water, "let's see what happens," he said and turned on the cold water tap.

Connor watched as the cup filled up and noted there didn't seem to be any steam. "Ohhhh Fandom has given us two latte options today it seems" he said with a chuckle. "We might actually get tired of it by the end of this... I'm still not 100 percent back to handling a lot of sweet stuff after being in the Cretaceous for so long!"

Cutter grinned, "I know what you mean, I do enjoy having a lot of sweet options available to us but yes I think we should have these drinks sparingly, it might be too much of a good thing if we had them all the time,"

Connor nodded and the gave a small chuckle as he bent down and scoped up Rex. "Same for you little guy! You are even less accustomed to pumpkin spice latte than we are... don't want you getting sick now" he said as Rex gave an annoyed chirp. Connor smiled and gave Rex some head scritches. "Trust me buddy it's for your own good!"

Cutter smiled as he reached over to give Rex some head scritches as well, "don't worry you can still have your other treats Rex but Connor's right, pumpkin spice lattes are a little too much of a sweet treat for you,"

"Actually, Im pretty sure I saw some nice red peppers in the fridge. How does that sound Rex? Fair compromise?" Connor waited to see what Rex's reaction would be, and after a moment, Rex tilted his head as if in thought; he gave a happy chirp. "I think that is a yes" he said with a smile over at Cutter.

Cutter grinned at that chirp, "well then, I think we shouldn't keep Rex from his treats," he said as he went over to the fridge to get the red peppers out and began to cut them up, Rex let out several excited chirps as he brought them over, "here you go Rex," he said as he held one out towards Rex.

Connor laughed as Rex jumped up on his shoulder trying to get closer to Cutter. He happily gobbled up the first bit of offered pepper. A moment later he chirped happily and then jumped over onto Cutter's shoulder, trying to stick his nose into the bowl with the pepper slices."Hehehe easy there Rex, no one is going to take those away from you, they are all yours" Connor said a chuckle.

Cutter laughed as well as he held the bowl up so that Rex could easily get to them, "they're definitely all yours Rex," he nodded as Rex chirped happily as he ate the peppers, "I think Rex is definitely happy," he smiled.
