Baltimore, Maryland - Thursday Lunchtime
Since Becker’s birthday was at the end of June, Connor and Cutter had decided to arrange a special birthday lunch for him and take him to one of the local museums on the mainland and show him their neck of the woods. Plus it was a nice way for both of them to spend time with Becker, since they hadn’t really done that lately with everything going on and since Cutter had gone on his camping trip with Becker the other week.
They were meeting for lunch first, Cutter had been able to print the photo of Becker licking the rock while fossil hunting on their trip and he’d made sure his shirt from shenanigans had been thoroughly cleaned and dried so that he could give it to Becker as well.
“So how are you liking Baltimore so far?” Cutter smiled as they sat at their table.
[for Connor and their guest. Up early for timezones. NFB for distance!]

"Well, I can't wait to see what you two have planned and I must say this is a great start to things!" Becker said with a fond smile. "Though i can't help but wonder how you managed to talk Lester into a two day overnight stay. The ARC is probably in chaos right now" he laughed at the thought of Lester and Jenny clashing without him there running the usual interference.

He smiled, "I would imagine the ARC is probably falling apart without you right now and James is cursing me,"

He glanced down at the menu, "Going into this adventure blind could be fun," Cutter considered as he looked at the options, "see anything that catches your eye?" he looked at Becker and Connor.

"Like Octopus? The weird eight-armed swimming thing?" Becker kinda blinked as he looked at Cutter and Connor. "People actually eat Octopus?"

Well aside from the prices but then that's where Lester's credit card was going to come in handy.

"That sounds really good actually" Becker said with a grin. "Think we are good with the appetizers and the start of a great day" Becker added with a lift of his glass.

"Oh you better be careful saying something like that!" Becker said with a laugh as he toasted them both. "You may come to regret letting me have that kind of freedom!"

"So what did you think about the museum?" Cutter smiled at Becker as they went up to the floor where there rooms were.

"And this is one swanky hotel- they even have an indoor heated pool!" Connor pointed out as he grabbed the card key out of his pocket and unlocked the door. "And the rooms are amazing too" he said as he walked in and looked around.

"I thought since Lester is so generously paying for this trip that the least we could do for Becker was put him up in a fancy hotel while he was here," and that it had nothing to do with Connor and him getting to stay at the hotel as well.

"But now that brings us to the one dilemma.... the sleeping arrangements," Becker said with a nod further into the room, a grin spreading over his face. There was clearly just one bed and then the pullout couch.

Even as he said it, after spending a fair deal of time with him lately, he had a fair idea of where he was going to choose to end up sleeping.
no subject
Honestly, when you were used to roughing it in every night, even a cot or a pull out was like a luxury upgrade in many ways.

They were both mature, responsible adults. They could handle sharing a bed as friends right?
no subject
"Sounds good. We'll make it work," Connor said with a nod, though he did think he caught a slight smirk from Becker. He wasn't intentionally doing this to them was he?
