MHA #13 - Tuesday Morning

It had been a really nice weekend having Tabby and Teddy visit and getting to spend time with them and it had been hard saying goodbye to them. After they had left he and Connor had to finish getting things ready for their move back to London for the summer since no sooner had they got back to the apartment after saying goodbye, the emails and phone calls had started so they already had a lot of work for them when they got back to London.

Everything that they needed was packed up and ready to go, Rex was chirping away in his carrier. Cutter looked around the apartment, “I can’t believe how quickly the time has gone by,” he said softly as he thought back to everything that had happened last summer.

It always great having Teddy and Tabby visit, but it never got any easier having to say goodbye to them when the weekend came. Connor was still fighting back a couple of tears when they got to the apartment and the first phone call from Becker came in.

The time away had been good but it was time to get back to work. The ARC and Prospero were missing them it seemed if the flood of emails from Philip were any indication.

"So much has happened, it's amazing to think about it. And the break has been good but in a way Im looking forward to getting back to things at work and seeing everyone else."

Cutter smiled softly at that, "it has been a good break," he nodded, "I'm going to miss Fandom but it's always good to get back and see everyone," he said softly, "even though based on how many emails we've gotten since last night, I think we're going to be kept well and truly busy for the next few months,"

"Oooofff aint that the truth. Philip has already sent me three files to look over before we get back" Connor said with a small groan. "The other Connor seems really excited about what he and Phillip have been working on. And I know there's been some messages on my phone from Danny and Becker too." He stopped and looked around the apartment for a moment. "Guess we have pretty much everything? You got all the anomaly research?"

Cutter nodded, holding up one of the suitcases, “I got as much data from the anomaly prediction model as I could and I know Abby and Sarah have been pretty excited about the research implications, I think we’re going to be having some long nights,” he admitted.

"Im sure we are all going to be busy for a bit when we first get back" Connor said as he grabbed his duffle bag with his stuff and then grabbed his other suitcase with the Prospero research he had been poking at for Philip between everything else. "We'll have to get with Becker, Danny and Lester and figure out what we are going to do about Philip and how we want to keep an eye on things."

Cutter nodded, "we should probably do that first," he considered, "especially since we'll all be working so closely for the next few months, we don't want Phillip to get suspicious that we're investigating him,"

"Aye, need to have a plan in place from the start so we know what to do no matter what we end up uncovering" he said with a nod. "I really hope this all turns out to just be a difference in the time lines and nothing too serious."

"And considering everything else we've been through, it wouldn't be bad idea to have contingencies in place, at least if Lester knows he'll be able to help us," Cutter considered, "but I agree, hopefully this is just us being precautious and it'll turn out we have nothing to worry about,"

"Aye, learned by now to always have a back up plan... or two or three... in place" Connnor said rubbing the back of his head sheepishly. "But we'll handle Philip when that comes up. For now, let's focus on getting back to London andreuniting with the team."

Cutter gave a small smile, "aye, it will be great to see everyone again, it's definitely not the same with phone and face to face calls, at least we'll all be in the same building again,"

"Aye and hopefully a lot less drama this time around" Connor added hopefully. "I know Danny said he and Becker have been beefing up security even more so... that's gotta help things out some right?"

"Oh that would be nice," Cutter agreed with a smile, "it would be nice to have a somewhat stress free summer, especially one that didn't involve an attack on the arc," he added.

"Well here's hopnig right?" he asked as he picked up the bags, slinging the dufflebag over his shoulder and stooping down to get Rex' carrier. "When did Sarah say she had the portal scheduled for again?"

Cutter smiled as he checked his message from Sarah, "we're pretty close to going, just another twenty minutes before the portal's scheduled,"

"Well, then I guess it's goodbye for now Fandom" Connor said with a somewhat sad sigh as he looked around the apartment one last time. "We'll be back after the summer! Shall we head over and wait for our portal then, Nick?"

"We shall," Cutter smiled as he gave one look over the apartment to make sure that they had everything they needed, "we'll be back Fandom," he promised and then it wasn't long before they all left the apartment and made their way to where they were scheduled to take the portal.
