MHA #13 - Monday Morning

It was Christmas morning and Cutter had gotten up early to put on the finishing touches to the tree, making sure all the presents were underneath and that Rex was content with his food over in the corner of the kitchen. Rex was chirping away happily as he ate.

Cutter put on some Christmas music, he was looking forward to celebrating his and Connor’s first Christmas together.

"They really are arent they? I had thought about trying ti make something special for us. That... lasted for about two minutes" he said with a small sheepish laugh.

"Oh?" Cutter said with a smile, "what were you originally going to make for us?" he asked, curious about could have been their Christmas breakfast instead.

"oh I had thought about the traditional breakfast. Eggs, bacon, pancakes... Don't think the kitchen is ready for that attempt from me " Connor said with a laugh.

Cutter laughed as well, "well it's the thought that counts right?" he grinned, "but these doughnuts and coffee do make a very nice breakfast as well,"

"Aye, glad you like them!" Connor said with a smile. "This is a very nice Christmas Breakfast isn't it?"

"The best," Cutter declared as he helped himself to another doughnut, "this should become a tradition for us on Christmas morning, open a couple of presents, have coffee and doughnuts for breakfast and then open the rest of the presents," he smiled.

"Oh I like the way you think, Nick!" Connor said with a broad grin. "That sounds like the perfect Christmas tradition! I love it!"

Cutter grinned as he raised his coffee in a toast, "to perfect Christmas traditions," he said.

"To the first of many amazing traditions we are going to have together!" he agreed as he returned the toast. It was amazing thinking about everything they had been through in the past year and have they almost hadn't ended up where they were right now. "I am glad I get to be making these traditions and memories with you Nick."

Cutter smiled at Connor, "I'm glad that I can make these new memories and traditions with you as well," he said, "they're going to be amazing Christmases and holidays," he said happily.

Connor nodded in agreement as he finished off his first coffee and doughnuts.

"So, want to keep our new tradition going and open that second present of yours?"

Cutter smiled warmly, "I can definitely open the second present," he told him, "and then you can open yours as well, before we let Rex back in,"

Connor grinned and walked over to the tree and picked up another present and handed it to Cutter.

"Happy Christmas Nick"he said with a grin as he watched him open the package.

Cutter opened his present and smiled as he saw what it was, “oh these are really nice, thank you Connor,” he said as he felt the material of the pyjamas, “I’m definitely going to be giving these a try tonight,” he added shyly as he went over to give Connor a kiss.

"Glad you like them Nick" Connor grinned as he watched him open the package. "I can't wait to see how they look on you" he said, his cheeks flushing a little as he thought about that... and a few other things if he was honest as he leaned in and returned the kiss.

Cutter flushed at that as he happily kissed Connor and then when he had reluctantly stopped he head back to tree and picked up Connor’s presents. Yes there was a theme to theme to them, he hadn’t been able to choose between them, “Happy Christmas Connor,” he smiled as he handed over the presents.

Connor's smile grew bigger and bigger with each present he opened. And when he finished there last one and looked at the presents, and the obvious and much-appreciated theme, he thew his arms around Cutter and hugged him.

"These are amazing Nick! Thank you so much, I love them!" He smiled at his boyfriend as he held him close.

Cutter had watched Connor's smile grow with each present, he had been a bit nervous with his choices, he knew Connor loved the franchise but he wasn't sure what he'd think of his choices so when he saw that smile and then that hug, he relaxed a little as he hugged Connor back tightly, "you're welcome Connor, I'm glad you love them," he said, "I couldn't choose which one so I got you all of them," he admitted.

"You did great Nick, thank you so much!" Connor said as he gave another squeeze to the hug then slowly let go. "And now it is time for your last gift" he said with a grin as he picked up one of two remaining gifts under the tree. He walked over and handed Cutter the final gift, the one that had NOT been marked as "For Rex From Santa."

Cutter curiously took the final gift from Connor and opened it and then his mouth dropped open in surprise as he saw what it was, "oh Connor," he gasped as he looked at the kit, "its beautiful, I love it thank you," and then he went over to give him a kiss.

Connor beamed, glad to see how much Cutter liked the gift.

"I saw it and had to get it for you. Will give you something to do when we head to the beach next time- do a little quick fossil hunting to pass some time."

He leaned in close and kissed Cutter and wrapped is arms around him and held him close.

"Happy Christmas Nick. Love you."

"Oh that will be a great way to get use out of this," Cutter smiled, "and we still need to go on that dig together," he added with a grin.

He wrapped his arms around Connor and leaned against him, "I love you too Connor, so very much, Happy Christmas,"

"Aye we will go on the dig and do so much more. Thank you for being here with me Nick."

Connor leaned in close ad wrapped his arms around his boyfriend and held him close. "First of many amazing Christmas' together. I cant wait to do it all over again."

Connor pulled back finally and smiled playfully. "How about we go see how those Payjamas look? Rex can open his present and enjoy his new feed toy while we go enjoy some time alone."

"Aye, the first of many amazing Christmas'," Cutter agreed happily, "I can't wait for next years'," he added with a smile.

"And I like the way you think," he added shyly, his cheeks going slightly red, "it will be a nice way to test those pyjamas out,"

Connor smiled as he broke the kiss and reached out to take Cutter's hand and slowly pull him towards the bedroom.

"Have fun Rex" he said as he grinned as Rex was already tearing a hole in the wrapping paper to get at his present.

"Happy Christmas Nick' he said again as he led them down the hallway, a broad grin, and a faint flush on his face as he did.
