Cutter had lost track of how long they had been in the Cretaceous ... he was pretty sure it had been a few months at least and there was still no sign of the anomaly opening. He was starting to lose hope that the anomaly site would reopen and they would be stuck here for good. For the time being it was just him and Connor at the camp, everyone else was busy either doing patrols of hunting and foraging for dinner that night. "Do you think they'll be able to find some rabbit for tonight?" he asked quietly, the last few nights had been raining and they'd been relying on berries for their meal. It was the next morning, Cutter hadn't slept very well the previous night, he had been so nervous about going to the anomaly site and whether or not that it was there that he had ended up waking early and not being able to go back to sleep. He looked around the camp where he and Connor had found a spot to sleep for the night, Connor was still asleep and he didn't want to wake him so he was trying to sit as still as possible until it was early enough for everyone else to wake. It was a few days later and it seemed like the rain had finally stopped, it hadn't rained for a few hours now and Cutter was hoping this was the break in the weather they needed, "do you think we could try and head towards the anomaly site now?" he asked hopefully as he looked at Becker and Danny. Becker took a deep breath as he carried his supplies back into the cave, leaving Connor, Nick and Danny outside. As much as he didn't want to do this, this was Connor and Nick's decision and the sooner they helped Stephen, the sooner they could continue on their way to finding a new anomaly. "Stephen?" Becker said as he approached the blankets where Stephen was laying, "my name is Captain Becker, I'm here to help you," ( they didn't think they would have to deal with this ) [preplayed with the amazing anomaly_research_nerd. Cutter wasn't sure how long he had been asleep for but when he woke up sunlight was beaming into the cave, he didn't feel as shocked or cold as he had yesterday and he knew he still wasn't done grieving but he knew this was something that he had to push through, he had to keep busy and productive as they worked on their next move. He wasn't ready to move just yet so he took a few moments to sit there, Connor was still asleep next to him and he didn't want to get up and leave in case Connor woke up. MHA #16 - Sunday Morning

Cutter didn’t know how long they had left with Stephen and the two Tom’s but he knew that at the least he, Connor and Stephen needed to talk. Even though they hadn’t expressly told Stephen that they used to date, he knew it was the least that they could do for Stephen and talk to him about why his initial visit had caused a great deal of concern.

He wasn’t entirely sure how this conversation was going to go and Cutter was rather nervous but it had to be done, so he paced rather nervously as he waited for Connor and Stephen to arrive.

MHA #16 - Saturday Afternoon

The last several hours had been a lot with Captain Ryan turning up and he wasn’t entirely sure how he felt about it but talking to Ryan had helped.

After a while, Ryan had taken one look at Cutter’s kitchen and had decided to go into town to fully stock up and he had said he was going to cook Cutter a home cooked meal. His old apartment may have been a mess but the one thing he did know outside of the military was how to cook. So taking Lester’s credit card, which Cutter was honestly still surprised that he hadn’t been cut off from after Becker’s birthday trip. Maybe James was waiting til he was back at the ARC before he started yelling about that trip.

Cutter was not expecting any other visitors, he had thought that maybe Stephen would visit but so far there seemed to be no sign of him so he took that to mean that only Ryan was his visitor. Which was fine, really, it was probably for the best if he didn’t have a visit from Stephen, there were a lot of unresolved issues and the visit would have just been really awkward.

In the meantime, as he waited for Ryan to come back, he decided to start thinking about his future at the ARC, he had promised Ryan he would give it serious thought and he knew that whatever decision he made he would need to talk to Connor about it but he could start to seriously consider whether or not he wanted to return to the ARC in an official capacity either as the team leader or a research assistant.

Still an Abandoned Warehouse - London

Cutter didn’t know how much time had passed since they had gotten out of the room with Leek and the future predators … he was never going to get that screaming out of his head, he had never liked the man but being ripped apart like that … no one deserved that. It was all he could do to keep holding on to Stephen as they made their way through what felt like the endless maze of the warehouse. “Are we nearly there?” he panted, trying to see if he could see a possible sign of an exit … the hallway they were in, didn’t look very promising. He was in agony, he just wanted to stop and sleep but he knew they couldn’t, they had to keep going. ( a difficult decision has to be made ) [part ten. CW for NPC character death. An Abandoned Warehouse - London

It had been a week since Connor and Cutter had been captured, Leek had most of his plans set in motion to ensure that everything would fall into place once he made his motives known to Lester and the British government and from there he would slowly control the worlds most powerful governments and cooperations. Helen was also ready with her plans, she had convinced Nick to join her and Stephen and after letting him spend one more night in his cell, had eventually released him so that he could be ready to move to the future with them. Lester and the rest of the team at the ARC had finally received the first bit of good news in a week, that Cutter and Connor were still alive and were being held by Helen and Leek and that there were coordinates for where they ere being held. It had been decided that what was left of the team would go in first because there was no telling what would happen to Cutter and Connor if they went in with the military. ( in which there is a rescue attempt, Helen and Leek's final plans are revealed and Cutter and Connor are rescued by an unlikely ally ) [part nine. The Anomaly Research Centre and then an Abandoned Warehouse, London

A few hours later and they had finally made it back to the ARC, Cutter reeling from thinking that the traitor had been Jenny to finding out that it was Leek and they had gotten back as quickly as they could, only to find Lester had been attacked by the future predator that was being controlled by Leek. Lester had managed to get away by releasing the Mammoth and after his earlier griping about it, actually seemed rather fond of the Mammoth now and had even volunteered to take it home for his children so they could have a pet. Jenny was still furious with Cutter, which he deserved that, he knew that he couldn’t blame her for that but after talking to her for a little bit, she had seemed to calm down a bit. Meanwhile both Connor’s had got to work on the ADD, trying to access Leek’s file and had come up with a location, only in the process it had set off a bomb timer and Cutter and Connor had worked to disarm it. And now after all that Lester had refused to let Cutter’s team come along, officially handing the operation over to the military, when Cutter had tried to protest Lester had pointed out that he was a civilian and an injured civilian on top of that, the paperwork alone would have been nightmare to finish. Cutter reluctantly found himself left behind and very, very bored. ( it was all going to go downhill from here ) [part seven and continuing with our meshing of canon and fandom as we tear canon apart and put it back together. After an unexpected couple of days off and a much needed shopping trip, Connor and Cutter returned to the ARC very bruised and sore and with some additional bruising after the other night and Lester took one look at the pair of them and assigned them desk duty, Cutter’s bruise on his jaw was still quite prominent where Helen had punched him. Cutter had tried to protest but he felt too tired and in the end had meekly agreed with Lester. Connor and Cutter had been assigned to work in the lab, to go through the piles of data that was still not catalogued - Cutter had decided to use this time to develop another plan - to work out a virus that he could upload into the anomaly detector so that he would work out who the traitor at the ARC was. Lester’s Office - the Anomaly Research Centre, London

Cutter was not aware of how much time had passed between getting off the motorway and heading back to the ARC since both him and Connor had ended up falling asleep on the trip back. As soon as they had arrived, he and Connor had received a summons to Lester’s office and he wondered why and then realised with a sinking feeling that Lester probably already knew what had happened. He didn’t have the energy for this, he just wanted to go home with Connor and not do anything ..he was emotionally and physically exhausted and he imagined that Connor felt the same but he also wasn’t in the mood to deal with an angry Lester, so reluctantly he and Connor headed to his office and Stephen was already there. Cutter trembled, if he wasn’t so exhausted he would have already taken a swing at him. “What are you doing here?” he spat instead. Cutter stared blankly at Stephen, he spared one angry glance at Helen and then returned to ignoring her. The first thing that Cutter had felt was relief that Stephen was okay and then that relief quickly turned to anger when he saw that Stephen was with Helen, who was leaning casually against a car. “Where the hell have you been?” he yelled as he walked over to them, wincing a bit at the effort that took. Connor followed after Cutter, trying to get between him and Stephen because he really was worried Cutter would just walk up and strangle Stephen right then. "Nick," he said in a half whisper. "Easy now..." Connor managed to get a hand to Cutter's chest to stop him, his eyes darting between the two men. "Hello, Nick...Connor" Stephen said almost casually, though there was the faintest hint of relief in his eyes when Cutter finally stopped stalking towards him. "Sorry I was late." Anomaly Research Centre - London

Lester had called a couple of days ago, saying that there had been a lot more anomaly activity and they needed all hands on deck, he had even - if somewhat reluctantly invited Connor to tag along to help them.

Since they were heading home, Cutter thought that this was a good opportunity to finally tell the team about him and Connor being together, they had already told Cutter’s Connor the news - which it turned out they’d had nothing to worry about, he was very firmly in love with Abby and had been very supportive of them being together.

The team had been supportive as well, even Stephen - Cutter knew there was a lot of history between them and he had been nervous about telling Stephen, not just because of everything that had happened with Helen but the times that he and Stephen had tried and failed to make it work between them before deciding to be really good friends instead.

Now that he’d told the team, he supposed now was as good a time as any to let them in on his discovery that there was a traitor amongst them - he’d called a meeting with both Connor’s, Abby and Stephen - he felt bad about not including Jenny in this but he didn’t know how far up it did go, from what he’d gathered from Connor it went fairly high up and he didn’t want to include her in this just yet.

He’d arranged for them to meet in the gym but he was waiting in his office first with Connor, mentally preparing himself to go and meet with them.

“What if they don’t believe me?” he looked worriedly over at Connor, “what if they … I don’t know, think I’m just paranoid or something?”
