It had been a very long and busy several days once Cutter and Connor had returned to London. Even though they were no longer involved with the field work, there was still a lot of research to be done both with the ARC and Prospero.

Cutter and Connor had been given an office to work out of while they were back for the summer, since Cutter’s old office now belonged to Danny ,and there were papers and books all over the office. Cutter was still trying to figure out what some of the numbers from the anomaly prediction model before they had left Fandom and the numbers and data was starting to blur together and he rubbed his eyes tiredly.

“I’m starting to think we might need a break,” he remarked with a sheepish smile from where he had taken a spot on the floor, surrounded by a pile of papers and notebooks.

MHA #13 - Tuesday Morning

It had been a really nice weekend having Tabby and Teddy visit and getting to spend time with them and it had been hard saying goodbye to them. After they had left he and Connor had to finish getting things ready for their move back to London for the summer since no sooner had they got back to the apartment after saying goodbye, the emails and phone calls had started so they already had a lot of work for them when they got back to London.

Everything that they needed was packed up and ready to go, Rex was chirping away in his carrier. Cutter looked around the apartment, “I can’t believe how quickly the time has gone by,” he said softly as he thought back to everything that had happened last summer.

MHA #13 - Saturday Morning

Cutter and Connor had decided to skip the dance yesterday in favour of spending a quiet night in where for once they didn’t have any deadlines to finish their work with the ARC and Prospero.

They had decided to take it easy that morning too, spending a bit longer in bed and just being able to enjoy each other’s company when they weren’t busy with work.

“This is nice,” Cutter murmured as he leaned in close to Connor, his eyes still closed.

MHA #13 - Saturday Morning

When Cutter woke up Saturday morning, he realised that he wasn’t at his usual home but he didn’t think anything of it and instead got up to explore this new place that he had ended up in. Eventually he decided he wanted breakfast but then realised that he wasn’t tall enough to reach the cabinets, that was when he spotted something much more exciting than breakfast.

“Oh wow a dinosaur!” he exclaimed as he spotted Rex who was happily chirping and eating from his food bowl, all thoughts of breakfast momentarily forgotten.

MHA #13 - Friday Morning

Cutter had woken up pretty early as he tended to most days, after spending months in the cretaceous being on early watches, it was still a schedule that was hard to shake so when he had gotten up and went to put the water in the kettle that morning he noticed that instead of water coming out of the tap it was pumpkin spice latte.

“Well this is different,” he said as Rex sat on the kitchen and tried to drink the liquid that was coming out to try it.

It had been a long couple of weeks since Connor had unexpectedly had to head back home to help Phillip and his team but now Cutter had received word that Connor was able to come back today and he couldn't help but pace nervously as he waited for Connor, his portal would be due any moment.

Rex was chirping expectantly as he waited by the door for Connor.

"I know Rex, it won't be too much longer, Connor will be back very soon," Cutter promised.

It had been a long and very, very tiring several months but the time had come for Cutter and Connor to make their way back to Fandom. After everything that they had been through Cutter couldn’t believe that they had made it to this day, they had said goodbye to everyone and had caught the portal back to Fandom.

Now they were out the front of their flat, Rex was chirping happily in his carrier as he began to recognise that they were back in Fandom, “I can’t believe we’re home,” he smiled at Connor.

It had been several days later since they had been rescued, they had all been debriefed and now Cutter and Connor had moved back into their house to adjust before they made the move back to Fandom. It was early morning and they were finishing up breakfast, Cutter had made sure there were no berries in sight. It was a couple of weeks later, the latest round of experiments had proved successful and they were now ready to try and bring home their missing friends. Phillip was getting the last of the equipment set up to start the rescue mission as he waited for the rest of the team to turn up so that they would be there to see the anomaly open. Meanwhile at the ARC, London

The last few months had been pure and utter chaos. Between Christine's death and what had happened at her black site and Helen disappearing with Cutter and Connor and Becker and Danny following, it had taken every last favour that Lester owed to keep the ARC up and running so that they could try and find them. Unfortunately that had meant going into partnership with Phillip Burton, a billionaire who had more than enough funds to keep the ARC going but at the moment if Lester could get Cutter, Connor, Becker and Danny back alive he would take it. Right now the ARC was under going a full security upgrade in the wake of the attack by Helen and Christine and new people were being hired since one of the new rules that Lester was insisting on was that field operatives had to have military or policing background and that ruled out most of his previous team with Becker and Danny still being trapped wherever they were. He was meeting with one of the new hires today, a Matt Anderson who had been working closely with Phillip and Phillip's team trying to open an anomaly and see if they could find their missing men. Cutter had lost track of how long they had been in the Cretaceous ... he was pretty sure it had been a few months at least and there was still no sign of the anomaly opening. He was starting to lose hope that the anomaly site would reopen and they would be stuck here for good. For the time being it was just him and Connor at the camp, everyone else was busy either doing patrols of hunting and foraging for dinner that night. "Do you think they'll be able to find some rabbit for tonight?" he asked quietly, the last few nights had been raining and they'd been relying on berries for their meal. Cutter was unaware of how much time had passed since they arrived to the anomaly site, the days had all blurred and the only thing that had eventually gotten him settled was getting in a routine of sorts. They had set up camp near the anomaly site in the slim chance that it would reopen but so far nothing. The other part that made this hard was still facing Stephen, Stephen had volunteered to stay with them until the anomaly reopened and he could help with hunting but other than a few words he hadn’t really spoken to Stephen since he had given Stephen the leftover rabbit but he knew they would have to talk, especially since Stephen didn’t know about Helen and Cutter had no idea how to even broach that subject. They had just finished breakfast for that morning and Danny had gone on patrol and to do some foraging, Cutter kept looking over where Stephen was. He knew Stephen deserved the truth about Helen but he still felt uneasy being around Stephen. ( it was time to have a long overdue talk ) [preplayed with the amazing anomaly_research_nerd. It was the next morning, Cutter hadn't slept very well the previous night, he had been so nervous about going to the anomaly site and whether or not that it was there that he had ended up waking early and not being able to go back to sleep. He looked around the camp where he and Connor had found a spot to sleep for the night, Connor was still asleep and he didn't want to wake him so he was trying to sit as still as possible until it was early enough for everyone else to wake. It was a few days later and it seemed like the rain had finally stopped, it hadn't rained for a few hours now and Cutter was hoping this was the break in the weather they needed, "do you think we could try and head towards the anomaly site now?" he asked hopefully as he looked at Becker and Danny. Becker took a deep breath as he carried his supplies back into the cave, leaving Connor, Nick and Danny outside. As much as he didn't want to do this, this was Connor and Nick's decision and the sooner they helped Stephen, the sooner they could continue on their way to finding a new anomaly. "Stephen?" Cutter wasn't sure how long he had been asleep for but when he woke up sunlight was beaming into the cave, he didn't feel as shocked or cold as he had yesterday and he knew he still wasn't done grieving but he knew this was something that he had to push through, he had to keep busy and productive as they worked on their next move. He wasn't ready to move just yet so he took a few moments to sit there, Connor was still asleep next to him and he didn't want to get up and leave in case Connor woke up. Everything had happened so fast with Helen and Christine and now Helen had captured Cutter and Connor and taken them god knows where. It had been a week since they had figured out that the artifact was as anomaly map and they had been instructed to find out what they could before they had to destroy it. It had been a lot of work and Cutter wasn't even sure they had scratched the surface of the secrets of the artifact but the deadline was approaching and they had to present their findings to Lester. "I still feel like there's something we're missing," he remarked softly to Connor as he stared at the artifact, "and we still haven't found a link to site 333 yet," ( It had all come down to this ) [adapted in parts from series 3 episode 9 'Herd Logic' and episode 10 'The Chase Continues'. It had been another few weeks later and Cutter and Connor had finally been given approval to be able to move back into their house, it had been so long since they had been back there and Cutter could hardly believe the news when Lester and Danny told them that they would be able to move back home. They would still need additional security since Christine, Wilder and Helen still had not been found but Cutter would take it. He was looking forward to being able to move back in with Connor and work towards their future. "Can you believe it? We're finally going home," Cutter said with a smile as he sat on Lester's couch, everything had been packed up and they were waiting on the final security checks from Danny before they could leave. It had been another week, Cutter and Connor were progressing well with their out patient therapies and he thought after how busy it had been lately that he would have a small get together with everyone. His kids had been wanting another playdate with Rex and he thought it would be the perfect way to do that and have everyone at the ARC over, for security reasons Nate wasn't coming and Sarah was still not up for much social interaction so she and Becker weren't coming but Abby and Connor were coming over with the Rex's and Jenny had said she would stop by for a bit and check in since she was still on her leave. Danny had gone to pick up his kids so he was finishing up making snacks for the get together. Cutter and Connor were resting on the couch, "it will be good to see everyone again," Cutter smiled as he waited for everyone to turn up. Cutter couldn't believe that after these last several weeks/months ... he wasn't entirely sure how long it had been since he and Connor had been in the hospital but it had been too long that was for sure, he and Connor were finally getting the all clear to leave the hospital. They weren't going to be able to go home just yet, not with the threat of Christine, Helen and Wilder but Lester had offered his apartment for them to stay with him while they finished the rest of their recovery. "I can't believe we finally get to leave the hospital," he said happily, he knew they would have to come back for some appointments but for the most part this was the last time they were going to be in the hospital, he was definitely going to try and not make a habit of this. Another few days had passed and Cutter's nightmares had steadily been getting worse, the latest one seemed to involve Helen making a clone of him, which he couldn't remember anything about and it had left him really unsettled, he startled himself awake and it took him a few minutes to calm his breathing down to remember that he was at the hospital with Connor that Helen wasn't with them.
