Connor was quite happy with the night they had had together- couple movies, take out, and then early morning cuddles in bed. It was a nice break from the hustle and bsutle of their usual schedule.

"I could really get use to this" he said with a small yawn as he shifted slightly trying to get the light out of his eyes and stay there just a little longer.

“I know, things have been so hectic lately, it’s so nice to just stay here and not have to do anything,” Cutter agreed, as he yawned and stretched a little before snuggling back in bed.

"Need to make sure we make ore time for this- just us... nothing else on the schedule" Connor said as he leaned over, placing a quick kiss on Cutter's cheek before giving a small contented sigh. "Date nights in bed... sound like a good idea really."

Cutter smiled at that kiss, “aye, sounds like the perfect plan, no phone calls or emails just the two of us here,” he said.

Nothing could surely change that right?

There was absolutely no way Fandom would get one last little trick in before they had to head back home.

Connor smiled and snuggled close to Cutter for a while then he shifted and lifted his head.

"Do you smell something?" he asked. "Smells like coffee and... something burning?"

Cutter froze, he had started to drift off but the second Connor managed the smells he could smell them too, “maybe it’s just a new Fandom thing where we can smell breakfast smells or something?” he said hopefully, he really didn’t want to get up to investigate.

"Maybe...." Connor said as he tried to snuggle back in. But something kept nagging at him. What IF it wasn't just Fandom being Fandom? With a sigh he sat up and started getting out of bed. "Rather safe than sorry?" he said with a sheepish shrug as he looked over at Cutter.

Cutter reluctantly sat up to, “better safe than sorry, maybe Fandom’s made breakfast for us?” he considered, “it might be one of those days where food and drink appear,”

"That would be nice actually.." Connor said with a chuckle as he grabbed his robe and slipped it on then started down the hallway towards the kitchen. He stopped short and looked back at Cutter. "Did.. did you hear that?"

Cutter followed after he grabbed his robe and then he could hear noises, some very familiar noises and he smiled at that, 'I think we might have visitors,"

"Teddy you've left the bacon on too long," came the familiar voice of Tabitha, "now it's going to be burnt,"

A smile spread over Connor's face as he heard Tddy's voice, still a little high pitch but sounding a little more grown up than last time. "You are the one who told me to leave it on... Tabitha!" he said defensively.

"Well, I think we need to go and difuse the situation huh?" Connor said with a small chuckle.

Cutter smiled fondly as he heard Tabitha sigh loudly in frustration, "I didn't mean that long Teddy, hopefully Dad and Pops like it really crispy,"

"I think we should," Cutter smiled and opened the door to the kitchen to find Tabby and Teddy looking at the frying pan, "I'm sure it's going to taste lovely just the same," he assured them.

"I like my bacon as crispy as i can get it" Connor said as he walked in with a grin and then gave a laugh as Teddy came barrling towards him and nearly tackled him to the ground with a hug. "Hey, good to see you too" he laughed as he gave the by a hug.

"I've been trying to teach Teddy how to cook like Uncle James taught me," Tabby told them as she went over to hug Cutter as well, "we've still got a fair way to go," she rolled her eyes then but she was still smiling.

"We wanted to make breakfast for you," Teddy told them proudly.

"I'm glad you did- always enjoy the great wake up when you two visit" Connor said as he reached over and pulled Tabby into a quick hug as Teddy ran over to Cutter for a hug. "And I think if we work on this together we can save breakfast still!"

Oh yes because three of them knew SO MUCH about how to cook!

Cutter hugged Teddy as he ran over to him, "exactly, we'll have breakfast done in no time between all of us," he said, which considering their past history in the kitchen wasn't exactly reassuring

"Yay!" Teddy said excitedly as he climbed up on the chair he had moved into the kitchen. He had grown a bit since the last visit, but he still was a bit too short to easily reach. "I'm starving! I want breakfast!"

Cutter smiled as he made sure Teddy was alright with the chair as he looked at the progress that had already been made, “well how about we work on finishing the scrambled eggs and then the pancakes?”

"I think that sounds like a good idea" Connor said as he ruffled Teddy's hair and smiled. "Tabby and I can start on the pancakes while you two handed the eggs. How does that sound?"

Cutter smiled as Tabby nodded, “I think that sounds perfect, we can manage that can’t we Teddy,”

Teddy grinned and reached for the bowl where there had been a previous attempt at making eggs, “let’s make breakfast,”

Connor grinned as he went to the pantry to get out the pancake mix. "Ok we need two eggs and some milk"he said to Tabby. He grabbed the box and handed it to Tabby so she could see how much to get. "This is going to be a good breakfast!!"

Tabby smiled as she poured out the amount that they needed, “I’m glad we can all help make it,” she said once the mix had been poured.

"We both always look forward to your visits" Connor said with a grin as he started to measure out the mx... getting a good bit on the counter...and the floor as well. "The family time is nice" he said with a smile as he looked at Cutter, knowing how much more this visit meant now that they had made the engagement official and everything.

Cutter smiled fondly as he helped Teddy finish cracking the eggs, "it definitely is, we're always glad that you're able to come and spend these weekends with us," he told them.

"We can go look for Trillobites later!" Teddy said excitedly as he started mixing the eggs, getting the word 100% right, earning a big smile from Connor.

Cutter smiled as he watched Teddy mix the eggs, "we can definitely go hunting for Trilobites," he said proudly that Teddy had gotten the word right, "we could all go down to the beach and have a look and see what we can find,"

"Like the way you are thinking there" Connor said, as he nonchalantly scooped up some of the spilled mix and put it back in the bowl, giving Tabby a small sheepish grin as she rolled her eyes at him slightly but laughed.

"And can we play with Rex later too please?" Teddy asked with wide eyes as he finished mixing the eggs and they were ready to go on the frying pan.

"Rex will be happy to play with you," Cutter smiled as he finished pouring the mix into the frying pan and making sure it was on the right setting, "he's probably still sleeping but once he smells food I'm sure he'll make an appearance,"

"Oh if there is oen thing Rex is never late for its food or scratches and he will get both soon enough" Connor chuckled as he turned to get the plates down for them, handing them to Tabby.

"Teddy and I always love coming to visit. It's going to be so much fun" she agreed with a grin as she went to set the dishes out on the table.

Cutter finished scrambling the eggs and once Tabby began setting the dishes on the table,, he began carefully dishing out the scrambled eggs and then the crispy bacon.

Teddy beamed, "everything smells so good and these weekends are the best, everything is going to be great," he declared.

Connor grinned and watched as Teddy carried the tray of bacon to the table and sat down. He stood with Cutter for a moment watching Teddy and Tabby at the table.

"It's good to have them back isn't it?" he asked as he leaned against Cutter for a moment and smiled.

"I know, it's always so nice that we're able to have these weekends with them," Cutter smiled as he leaned against Connor, "I can't believe how quickly these weekends seem to come around, I can't believe how grown up they are now,"

Connor shifted and put his arm around Cutter and hugged him for a moment. "Aye, it's good to see them doing so well, it's good for them and for us as well." Connor stayed there for a moment longer, watched Teddy and Tabby dishing up their plates and then gave a small chuckle as he finally let go of Cutter. "Think we should go grab some breakfast while we still have the chance huh?"

Cutter smiled as he returned the hug, “aye, I think we should get some breakfast, it does look pretty incredible,”

With a grin Connor walked over and took a seat at the table between Tabby and Teddy, letting Cutter take the place opposite him. "I am starving!" he said as he got his plate and flipped a couple of the pancakes over onto it, giving Teddy a playful budge out of the way as he was trying to stack more pancakes onto his plate as well.

Cutter grinned as he also got a couple of pancakes, "careful with those pancakes Teddy," he said as he saw how big that stack was getting, "do you think you can eat all that?"

"Of course I can!" Teddy said proudly. "Im big now, lot older than when I visited last time. I can eat anything!"

Connor chuckled and hid the grin behind his hand for a moment. "You definitely have gotten bigger since we last saw you. You both have !"

"He can eat a lot more at home," Tabby revealed with a fond smile, "it's actually pretty impressive how much food he can put away, Uncle James love it when we're over because he can make extra food,"

Teddy grinned, "I love food," he declared as he began to eat the pancakes, "and I can eat so much of it because I'm six now," He said proudly.

"You have definitely grown," Cutter smiled fondly, "it's always so nice have these breakfasts together when you visit,"

"Highlight of the weekend when you visit that's for sure" Connor said with a nod as he tookthe first bite of pancake then some bacon. "I still love how James is teaching the two of you to cook"

Connor gave a knowing look to Cutter and grinned, remembering the several catastrophies and adventures they'd had over the years in the kitchen with Lester.

"Good to know some in the family are picking up on the whole being able to cook thing!"

"That's what Uncle James says," Tabby grinned as she ate a piece of bacon, "he definitely wanted to make sure the next generation was at least able to put a meal together that wasn't takeout or microwave dinners,"

Cutter grinned sheepishly at that, "that is the extent of my cooking ability, we're also pretty much banned from our Lester's kitchen after a few .... mishaps,"

That was a bit of an understatement Cutter.

"Did you set his kitchen on fire?" Teddy asked with wide eyes as he nomed on some bacon and looked at Cutter and Connor.

"Well not exactly... but there have been quite a few messes and accidents involving the kitchen to warrant the banning" he admitted, still wondering how it was that of everything that had happened in lester's various kitchens a full blow fire had not been one of them.

"Actually considering our last efforts in his kitchen I'm kind of surprised we didn't set the place on fire," Cutter admitted sheepishly, "we ended up making a huge mess though that one time,"

Tabby rolled her eyes but she couldn't hide that grin, "oh I can't wait to tell Uncle James about this," she giggled.

"Oh come on...." Connor said putting on a fake peading face, complete with puppy eyes. "You wouldn't go and do that to us would you Tabby?"

Tabby's grin widened at that as she looked innocently at Connor, "I mean I don't have to," she teased, "what would I get out of it if I don't?"

Cutter just shook his head, "I think you've been spending too much time with Uncle James," he said with a fond smile.

Connor blinked and then smiled and laughed a little. "Definitly too much time with Uncle James... he's teaching you to be a shrewed negotiator just like him!" he added with a small chuckle and head shake.

Tabby beamed at that, "so does that mean I get a reward?" she said, still looking innocently at Cutter and Connor.

"Can I get a reward too?" Teddy piped up from where he was halfway through his mountain of pancakes.

Cutter couldn't help but laugh a little at that, "what do you think?" he looked over at Connor fondly, "do you think these two deserve a reward?"

"Oh I think a reward isin order. How about after this great breakfast is done we head out for a fun day on the island!?" Connor suggested with a grin. "We can go out to the beach and look for fossils..." he said, sounding casual and nonchalant, but his eyes were shining with excitement.

"Yay," Teddy cheered, "I want to go explore the island, it's a great reward isn't it Tabby?"

Tabby smiled, "I think that would be acceptable, spending the day on the island,"

Cutter smiled fondly, "well I think its settled then, after breakfast we explore the island,"

"Perfect, I will make sure I find my explorer's hat for you Teddy" Connor said with a grin. "And we still have the fossil tool kits too right? I think they're in the back of the closet in the bedroom" he said as he looked over at Cutter.

"Oooohhh! Special hat, special hat!" Teddy said as he bounced excitedly in his seat and finished the piece of bacon he had been chewing on.

"Aye" Connor laughed. "Gotta make sure you are ready for the grand adventure. And Im sure we have another hat for you too, Tabby... if you are not too cool for one" he said with a playful wink.

Cutter grinned at Teddy's enthusiasm, "yay special hats," Teddy cheered, even though Tabby looked a little unsure about the idea of wearing a hat, which Teddy noticed, "please Tabby,"

"Alright," she agreed with a small smile, "I'll wear the hat just this once,"

Cutter nodded, "I'm pretty sure the kits are still there," he told Connor.
